Congressman Moolenaar Visits Axia
U.S. Rep. John Moolenaar (MI – 4th District) recently visited the Axia Institute to learn more about the Institute and some of its current research initiatives.

As part of his current efforts to address the nation’s opioid abuse epidemic, Congressman Moolenaar was interested in learning about some of Axia’s research related to smart packaging.

Executive Director Katherine Franz Featured in GLBB Magazine
The Axia Institute's Katherine Franz was recently highlighted in a special issue of Great Lakes Bay Business Magazine. The feature explored Franz' experience in both industry and academia, having lived in 17 locations around the world. Katherine also shared her female role models, and advice for other women: "Find a way to succeed. You do the best work when you are inspired."

Axia Institute Sponsored Research Honored
Michigan State University (MSU) Researcher  Dr. Joan Rose  recently received recognition from the  International Water Association  (IWA) for completing research commissioned by the Axia Institute related to the Global Water Pathogen Project, or  GWPP .

The GWPP was undertaken by the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and Michigan State University. The project is titled  Building a Knowledge Value Chain to Support Global Water Safety.
