November 2025

Tooele Happenings

We’re excited to share that we released our Annual Report this past November—a look back at the growth, challenges, and meaningful moments that shaped our year.

This edition highlights the incredible impact of Patty, a dedicated community member who led a fundraising drive to support our shelter. Her generosity and commitment remind us how powerful it is when individuals come together to uplift survivors and strengthen the resources they depend on.

We invite you to take a moment to read Patty’s story and explore the many ways community partnerships helped move our mission forward this year.

Introducing our new Resident Advocate and Education Support staff:

Chad has a Bachelor's of Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University and moved to Utah in 2019. He briefly worked in detox before joining the West Valley City Police as a patrol officer and a member of the Crisis Intervention Team. Along with being a resident Advocate, Chad will help us with our education efforts!

Get involved: volunteer with Pathways

From supporting our shelter to helping with events and assisting at the Survivor Advocacy Center, volunteers in Tooele County play a vital role in enabling South Valley Services to serve survivors and their families. Whether it's a one-time project or ongoing support, our volunteers bring compassion, commitment, and a sense of community spirit to everything they do.

We’re grateful for each person who chooses to volunteer with us. Together, we’re building a safer, more supportive Tooele County for everyone.

Spotlight: donation needs

Consider adding items to your cart from our wishlist this Cyber Monday! We are in need of new children’s toys for all ages, bulk individually wrapped snacks, and hygiene items such as razors, hair straighteners, and blow dryers. They can be dropped off at the Survivor Advocacy Center Monday - 9am-5pm Monday through Thursday.
