Featuring gasp-inducing first looks at Elizabeth Streb's new works, including a 22 foot I-Beam, 2, 160 pound concrete filled metal pipes, spiked rebar, which hang, spin, swing and circle the space, PLUS a sneak preview at STREB's newest Action Machine - SURF BOARD. Run time: 50 minutes, no intermission.

This June, STREB will host two Adult Movement Intensives -
a PopAction Intensive and a Flying Trapeze Intensive.

PopAction Intensive
June 27 - 30
11:30 pm - 2:00 pm
$400 early bird (register before June 1);
$475 after June 1
The rigorous intensive will offer a PopAction technique warmup before students learn Bilevel (2002) from STREB repertoire.

Flying Trapeze Intensive
June 26 - 29
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$500 early bird (register before June 1);
$575 after June 1
The intensive will focus on flying tricks and skills, catching and returning, and board skills.
|
|
Both intensives will culminate in a combined showcase on the evening of June 30 at 7:30 pm.

Our next celebration of artistic experimentation and inclusiveness, open access, and community engagement is June 10th. The show will feature artists in our community working at the intersection of aerial arts, circus arts and contemporary dance and theater. Luciany Germán, Jacob McGee, Chrisell Tidrick-Hammock, Maggie Stockdale, and Graham Stockdale are slated to perform.

Join us in honoring the visionary Brooklyn public school educator Kathy Nobles at STREB’s 2022 Action Maverick Award Benefit on Wednesday, May 25 at 7pm.
A live and silent auction will accompany the event, featuring tickets to Broadway's Six; dinner with Elizabeth Streb and Laura Flanders and more. Bidding is open from Tuesday, May 17th, 9am through Tuesday, May 31, 5pm. A link to preview the auction items can be found at: www.streb.org/benefit.

forever for now is a work about love… a phenomenon that none of us truly understand. Authored and choreographed by five young artists, the show follows stories of falling in love, discovering heartbreak, and cultivating a deeper love of self. forever for now is directed by Hannah Cullen, artistic director of cullen+them and one of STREB's original KidCompany stars!

Radioactive Practice!
Choreographer Abby Zbikowski (a STREB EACP GO! recipient in 2017) and crew have created a genre-bending work that utilizing skills honed through practices in movement traditions including (but not limited to) street dance, post-modern dance, contemporary African forms, tap, synchronized swimming, soccer, and martial arts, the cast draws from an arsenal of physical possibility to shatter assumptions of established forms and test the group’s own physical and mental limits.
