After a busy few weeks in Washington, I am so glad to be back home in CA-39! Here's the highlights from this week:
I enjoyed visiting with our Fullerton, La Habra and Walnut communities during National Night Out on Tuesday!

National Night Out is an annual opportunity for law enforcement and local residents to discuss community needs and build relationships to help us form safer and kinder communities.

I am proud to support the brave men and women of our law enforcement who work hard to keep CA-39 residents safe, and will always include the voice of local law enforcement and community members in our conversations in Congress.
California's children are falling behind in online school. Attending school from home puts undue financial and mental stress on students and their families, and it especially affects households with parents who work full time.

With the appropriate resources and safety measures in place, I believe schools should reopen. What do you think?
Should students return to school in-person?
Yes
No
Should masks be required in schools?
Yes
No
The security, humanitarian and public health crisis at our Southern border is only getting worse. The longer this goes unaddressed, the more communities across the US will suffer.

Along with the spread of COVID-19, I am also very concerned about the dramatic increase in fentanyl smuggling activity at our border. Fentanyl seizures at ports of entry in San Diego have been up 719 percent this year, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection has seized more fentanyl so far in 2021 than in all of 2020.

We must secure our border now and send a clear message to drug cartels that exploiting our communities and criminal activity of any kind will not be tolerated. As your Representative in Congress, I will continue pushing the Biden Administration to address this crisis.
I had an amazing night at Concerts in the Park in Diamond Bar and Chino Hills! These family-friendly events are a fun and safe way for our CA-39 community to come together throughout the summer. Don't forget your lawn chairs and blankets!
I was glad to join community leaders to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Firehouse Church in Brea and recognize Pastors Fernando and Elizabeth Villicana for their decades of dedicated service to our faith community.

Firehouse Church is a pillar of our area and instrumental in local projects to support those in need. Pastor Fernando Villicana, a retired Firefighter for the Los Angeles Fire Department, also faithfully serves as the Fire Service Chaplain for the Fullerton, Brea, Placentia and Garden Grove Fire Departments.

Our community is lucky to have such incredible local leaders! Do you know a person or group in CA-39 who deserves more recognition for their work? Click the button below to share their name with my team!
As our nation and the world watches our finest athletes compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, I’m so proud of Team USA and our five CA-39 Olympians. A big congratulations to Janie Reed of Placentia and Aubree Munro of Brea for taking silver in women’s softball, and to Alex Morgan of Diamond Bar for taking bronze in women’s soccer!

Be sure to tune in on Sunday to cheer on Alex Obert from Placentia as he competes in the men’s waterpolo!
My team was honored to recognize Keller Williams on their Grand Reopening in Chino Hills! It’s a joy to see local business back in action. Thank you to the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce for hosting this special event.
