Financial Aid Deadline
Extended to June 1, 2020
Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy have extended their Financial Aid Deadline to June 1, 2020, however families are encouraged to apply for tuition assistance as soon as possible.

All applications for Financial Aid from Prep and Villa must be submitted through FACTS.

Scholarship Updates
In order to accommodate students and families that have been impacted in different ways by COVID-19, Cathedral Prep is extending the deadline for some of the scholarships, while other scholarship deadlines will remain the same. Below is a list of available scholarships, updates (if applicable) on the deadlines, and links to the applications:

Merit-Based Essay Scholarships ($500 - $1,000) : Application deadline moved to Friday, May 1st. Recipients notified on Monday, May 18th. Click Here for Scholarship Application Form

Music, Visual, & Performing Arts (MVP) Scholarships ($500) : Application deadline moved to Friday, May 1st. Applicants will be contacted to schedule an audition. Click Here for Scholarship Application Form

Art Scholarship ($500) : Application deadline moved to Friday, May 1st. Applicants will be contacted to schedule an audition. Click Here for Scholarship Application Form

Catholic School Graduation Scholarship ($1,000) : Application deadline is still Friday, May 8th. This is a one-time $1,000 Scholarship awarded to one graduate of every Diocesan grade school attending Prep or Villa. Keep in mind that this is in addition to the $3,000 CESP which all graduates of Catholic grade schools are eligible to receive. Click Here for Scholarship Application Form

Christopher Mark Knoll Scholarship ($1,000) : Application deadline is still Friday, May 15th. This is a one-time $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshmen matriculating from a Catholic grade school. The student must have a minimum of a B+ average in all courses and a financial need. Leonard J. & Barbara A. Cyterski Memorial Scholarship ($1,000): Application materials must be sent directly from the Catholic grade school to the Cyterski family. This is a one-time $1,000 scholarship offered to 3 Cathedral Prep incoming freshmen matriculating from Catholic grade schools. Click Here for Scholarship Application Form

Catholic Elementary Scholarship Program ($3,000) : All graduates of Diocesan grade schools are eligible for a $3,000 scholarship, regardless of income. In order to qualify families must simply complete an application for tuition assistance through FACTS. Click Here to Create FACTS Account & Complete Application
Villa Maria Academy

Medaille Scholarship ($2,500) : All eligible applicants have submitted their required application forms. Scholarship winner notified on Monday, May 18 th .

Change of Circumstances caused by COVID-19?
Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy understand it's possible your financial circumstances may have been impacted by COVID-19 and we want to help.

If your financial circumstances have changed after completing your Financial Aid application through FACTS we encourage you to login to your FACTS account and make updates.

You can also visit www.prep-villa.com/tuitionhelp and complete the online form. All you need to do is enter your contact information, explain in your own words how your financial circumstances have changed due to COVID-19, and submit the form. We will make sure the information is taken into consideration when determining your financial aid award.

Although remote instruction has begun and the school buildings are closed, the Prep and Villa Admissions Offices are still available to handle your enrollment needs. Updates on Financial Aid, Scholarships, Tuition, and Other Educational and Enrollment Matters Impacted by COVID-19.
Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy understand that several families in the region will be financially impacted as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. Understandably this could play a role in your decision to send your child to a Catholic high school. Prep and Villa want to do everything we can to help, therefore we held a webinar for families of incoming freshmen. The meeting covered changes to the financial aid process, updated scholarship deadlines, and other information and opportunities which will help ease the financial burden caused by COVID-19.

Financial Aid Award Notifications

Class of 2024
- APRIL 10, 2020 -
Families of Prep and Villa incoming freshmen will be notified of their financial aid awards by April 10th, 2020 via email. The award notification will be sent to the email that was designated during the FACTS application process.

Families of upperclassmen will be notified of their financial aid awards by April 24th via email.

Remote Scheduling for Incoming Freshmen
Due to COVID-19 scheduling for incoming freshmen at Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy will now be done remotely.
Families will be sent a tentative schedule along with the details of remote scheduling via email in the near future.

Uniform Measuring Night for
Villa Maria Academy scheduled for May 4th and May 5th has been postponed . Families will be notified when a new date has been scheduled
Prep and Villa Palooza
POSTPONED
The Prep and Villa Palooza, open to all 7th and 8th grade students and scheduled for Friday, April 17th, is being postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the social distancing requirement. We will be in contact if and when a new date has been scheduled.

Tuition Deposit Deadline

We would like to remind you, if you have not yet done so, that the $100
non-refundable tuition deposit is due April 20th. This is not an enrollment or admissions fee, rather it's the first $100 of tuition which you will see deducted from your tuition balance on your statement. Tuition deposits hold your child's spot in the freshmen class and assist with school planning and course scheduling.

Due to the closure of the school offices we are temporarily unable to accept cash or credit/debit card tuition deposits.
Prep and Villa
Math and Science Placement Exam
The incoming freshmen class is offered the opportunity to test out of Accelerated Algebra and Integrated Science Honors. Upon successful completion of the exam students can move directly into Advanced Geometry and Biology Honors.

Students that do not test will be placed in the freshmen level courses. Students in Prep and Villa's Eighth Grade Honors Program are not required to take the exam to be placed in the sophomore level courses.

The 2020 Math and Science Placement Test date will be announced after in-person school functions are permitted.

Scholarship Program
Cathedral Prep and
Villa Maria Academy are proud to offer the Catholic Elementary Scholarship Program (CESP) in which all incoming freshmen graduating from Diocesan grade schools are guaranteed a minimum of $3,000 in tuition assistance each school year regardless of a family's income. That's a total of $12,000 over four years! Qualifying families can receives thousands of dollars more in tuition assistance!

There are still many opportunities for students from public schools to receive assistance with the tuition and we encourage all families with questions to contact the Admissions Office at both campuses to find out what your family qualifies for. Prep and Villa are committed to ensuring that no student is denied a college-preparatory education because of finances.
