Prayer

God of wisdom, we thank you for all the gifts you have given us throughout this school year.

We praise you for giving us life, for saving us in Christ, and for choosing us to be your people.

As we come to the end of this school year,

we voice our gratitude for the good things you have done in us, and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school.

We ask that you bless them in your love and give them refreshment and peace. We praise you, God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

Amen

Dear Catholic School Leaders,

Thank you for your dedication to Catholic education in the Diocese of Green Bay. Your hard work and dedication throughout this school year have not gone unnoticed. We are grateful for all you do to support your students and families, teachers and staff, and the school and parish community.

Please be sure to review the 2023-2024 calendar above. We also need each school to take a few minutes to complete the Google forms below for any retiring teachers/staff and for new hires. The Office of Catholic Schools will continue to be open throughout the summer and we are happy to help you as you prepare for the 2023-2024 school year. Please reach out if you have questions, concerns, or simply to bounce ideas off of us. We love to hear from you!

We look forward to seeing you on August 10 for our All Principal/President Meeting. More details will be coming soon. Until then, have a wonderful summer.

Do you have any teachers or staff who will retire at the end of this school year?

Bishop Ricken would like to recognize those retiring from our schools. Please complete the form linked below. We would like all forms submitted no later than Friday, June 9.

Google Form for Retiring Teachers / Staff

New Teachers

Hiring is in full swing and we want to know who is joining your staff. Please click the link below to fill out the information on your new teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. We need one form for each new teacher hired for the 2023-2024 School Year.

All teachers new to the Diocese of Green Bay need to attend one of the New Teacher Training sessions. First-year teachers should be assigned a mentor. Teachers who are new to your school, but have taught in other Catholic schools do not need a mentor but should have a go-to person (other than the principal).

Please contact Liz Goldman with any questions.

JUNE 30th DEADLINE

Schools must prepare their annual budget for the 2023-24 school year by June 30. The budget does not have to be submitted to the DPI. This requirement does not apply to schools new to the PSCP in the 2023-24 school year that provided a budget to the DPI by May 1, 2023. Schools may choose to use the DPI Budget and Cash Flow Report on the School Submitted Reports and Forms webpage or use their own budget if it includes certain components (see Training 6-3: School Budgets on the On Demand Training webpage). The budget will be reviewed by the school’s external auditor as part of the Fiscal & Internal Controls Practices Report.

This date also marks the end of the 2022-23 fiscal year for purposes of the 2022-23 financial audit that is due to the DPI by October 15, 2023 (see Financial Requirements Bulletins on the Program Bulletins webpage and all units of Training 5: Financial Audit on the On Demand Training webpage).

Jason Evert Presentations

Jason Evert will be presenting to our school and religious education employees in August. All administrators, teachers, catechists, and staff must attend one of the sessions listed below:

Aug. 23: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM at

Nativity Parish 2270 S. Oneida Street

Aug. 24: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM at

St. Mary Catholic High School 1050 Zephyr Drive

Jason will be revisiting the topics he presented last time he was in Green Bay: "Loving All God's People" A timely diocesan in-service for catechetical leaders, youth ministers and catechists, as well as Catholic school administrators and teachers in these times of increasing confusion regarding how the Church should view and define gender and sexuality, and of growing challenges in ministering to and guiding those we serve as they navigate these issues. Follow-up materials will be provided so schools can continue the conversation throughout the school year.

End of Year PowerSchool Process

PowerSchool End of Year process is scheduled for June 30th, 2023. Please have all end-of-year reports, errors and setup completed before then. We are asking users not to log into PowerSchool on June 30th until the process has been completed. A message will be displayed on the log-in Screen on all portals and a message will go out to all PowerSchool UserGroup contacts. If no errors in setup are found the process has been finished in about an hour in recent years. Please reach out to Becky Krahn at the IT helpdesk with questions.

Assessment Updates

We are happy to share our schools will continue to have access to all MAP reports. While our testing options end on June 30, 2023, we are still owners of the accounts. All schools should print the end of year report for each students cumulative file.

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, the Diocese of Green Bay will be partnering with Renaissance Star for our annual assessments. There will be training for schools as we begin with this new platform. If you have not done so already, please use the link below to note your school's point of contact.
