Let Us Pray . . .Queen of Peace

Mary Queen of Peace, How greatly we need your maternal help! Therefore, O Mother, hear our prayer.

Star of the Sea, do not let us be shipwrecked in the tempest of war.

Ark of the New Covenant, inspire projects and paths of reconciliation.

Queen of Heaven, restore God’s peace to the world. Eliminate hatred and the thirst for revenge, and teach us forgiveness. Free us from war, protect our world from the menace of nuclear weapons.

Queen of the Rosary, make us realize our need to pray and to love. Queen of the Human Family, show people the path of fraternity.

Queen of Peace, obtain peace for our world. Through your intercession, may God’s mercy be poured out on the earth and the gentle rhythm of peace return to mark our days.

(Excerpts from Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Basilica of Saint Peter/Cathedral of Saint Paul 25 March 2022)

Calendar Change and Addition
The New Teachers Orientation will be moved to August 15.

For All Administrators, please mark your calendars for the School Success Summit, August 16 and August 17 (morning). The summit is being coordinated with CESA 7 and a couple other schools in the area, in order to bring national experts in the area of grades, grading and PLC’s.

It is our hope that an administrator and/or lead teachers from each school will attend. Schools are able to use EANS funding for this Summit. Click for the tentative details and costs. CESA 7 will be happy to work with you to apply for EANS funding and/or the paper work needed.  More to come.  Feel free to contact Jane Schueller for more information.

We have received word from Two Eagles that all our schools will be receiving a grant for the 2022-2023 school year. Please remember that this grant must be used to offset tuition. Schools should be receiving information and payment in the next several weeks so please be on the lookout for the funds. If you have any questions please contact Dean Gerondale.

Our Sunday Visitor for Annual Campaigns

Several schools have expressed interest in using OSV but are concerned that the cost to OSV is prohibitive. Here are this year's results from several schools that use OSV:
Some things to keep in mind:
  • You are responsible for the list you give to OSV. Remove duplicate addresses or names and save money by not sending multiple mailings to the same address.
  • All printing, mailing, etc., is handled by OSV. You will get final approval of the material that is being sent.
  • There is minimal stress on staff and no volunteers are needed.
  • OSV will send speakers for Mass to help the campaign.
  • OSV handles all follow up.
  • Additional costs can add up quickly. They will mail to businesses but there is another cost for that. There is also an online link for donations, but that has a separate cost as well.
Worship Jesus Years
Part of Disciples on the Way Journey
Dear Presidents & Principals,

We are now about to enter the Worship Jesus Years as part of our Disciples on the Way Journey. The outline for the Worship Jesus Years is as follows:
  • Kick Off: June 19, 2022 - Release of Bishop's Pastoral Letter
  • Kick off for the USCCB National Eucharistic Revival
  • Diocesan Encounter Jesus Retreat - October 11, 2022
  • Year 1: 2023-2024 Focus on the Word
  • National Eucharistic Congress - July 17-21, 2024 Indianapolis Indiana
  • Year 2: 2024-2025 Focus on the Eucharist
  • Diocesan Eucharistic Congress - July 2025

In preparation for Year 1 the Focus on the Word, the Office of Catholic Schools is requesting that ALL administrators take and complete the Franciscan at Home Course: Praying with Scripture: Lectio Divina by September 1, 2022. This will allow the school administrators to ask their faculty members to take this course during the 2022-2023 School Year.
School Choice Deadline Update
Due to issues with the OAS portal, the deadline to complete the WPCP voucher and obtain verification information has been extended to April 21, 2022. All verifications must be completed by this day.
May 4th: All School Rosary
Join in!
Because of the great feedback we received from the all school Rosary event in October, we will be holding another all school Rosary event on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
We are asking all Catholic schools to pray the rosary at 9:00 on May 4th. We have created a PDF and JPEG so you can share the event with your parish and on your social media.
E-Catholic Website Promotion
Do You Need a New Website or a Website Host? If the answer is yes, then eCatholic has a deal you might be interested in. From now until April 15th, 2022 eCatholic has an exclusive offer for parishes and schools in the Diocese of Green Bay. If you sign with them before April 15th, you can claim a FREE Quick Flip for your existing website and NO monthly fees for online giving for 12 months. More information is available here.
Address Verification
You can now verify a student's address directly in Powerschool. This can be a helpful tool when verifying the address for Choice students. Please note, however, that the school district does not show on the verification report.  To verify an address in Powerschool:
  • Select the student you want to verify.
  • The General Demographics will be the first page you see. Under HOME ADDRESS - click on the VALIDATE button.
  • A Google Map will open in a new window
  • Right Click to print out the Map and place it in the student file.

Catholic Identity in Our Catholic Schools: Everyone's Responsibility
The Vatican released a document on Tuesday affirming the importance of Catholic identity in our Catholic schools.

“Everyone has the obligation to recognize, respect, and bear witness to the Catholic identity of the school, officially set out in the educational project,” it continued. “This applies to the teaching staff, the non-teaching personnel, and the pupils and their families.” -Congregation for Catholic Education

See the article from the Catholic News Agency for an overview.

Textbook Resources Review
GRACE and St. Mary Catholic Elementary Schools are each reviewing science resources. If you would like to make a connection with them, feel free to contact the Office of Catholic Schools and we will get you to the right person.

If you are planning a change in content resources, please contact Jane Schueller in order that schools can collaborate as needed or fill out the tab on the spreadsheet.

It would be helpful if all schools could fill out the Textbook spreadsheet to assist in knowing what schools are using.
Curriculum Review & Connections: Please fill out this form in order that as schools/systems are looking at reviewing curriculum resources, they might be able to collaborate with other schools/systems. You could also use this resource to connect with other schools using different resources at which you might be looking.
