SuperKids Information Presentation
We will have one of the lead trainers for SuperKids PK-2 reading program at Bona Hall on March 13 from 1:00-3:00 for a product overview. All are welcome. Please let us know if you will be coming .
Bridges Math
Some schools are interested in Bridges Math. If you are interested or have been exploring, l et Jane know . We would be happy to get representatives here.
Lucy Calkins Writing Program
We have had some schools interested in the Lucy Calkins writing program. If you are using this resource or are interested please send an email to Jane Schueller . We would like to get people together to explore.

Jane has also learned that Zaner Bloser has a new writing product available. If you would like to explore this, let her know.
Adding Seats in the Choice Program
 
Several schools have seen an increase in the number of students applying under the Choice program and are concerned that they will run out of seats for a particular grade. According to DPI, in early May, WPCP schools will be given a one-time option to increase the number of seats in a grade and will enter this information in OAS. WPCP schools cannot add grades on or after February 1 (i.e. the start of the WPCP application period).

Please note that WPCP school district cap limit information at https://dpi.wi.gov/sms/choice-programs/data called “WPCP 2018-19 Public School District 3% Limits” is for the 2018-19 school year. The WPCP school district cap limit is 4% for the 2019-20 school year. The information for the 2019-20 school year will be posted in the fall.
What Income Amount from tax forms is used in the Choice Program?
The Wisconsin Department of Revenue method will pull from the state of WI AGI found on line 1 of the family’s tax return. 

As stated on the WI DOR website: The federal adjusted gross income that you fill in on line 1 may not be the same as the amount reported as adjusted gross income on your federal Form 1040. Differences may occur because Wisconsin uses the provisions of federal law amended to December 31, 2017, with certain exceptions. Laws enacted after December 31, 2017, may not be used for Wisconsin unless adopted by the Legislature.
Please note that WI DOR will look at a families 2018 taxes unless they have not filed, then the DOR will pull their 2017 taxes.
WISE Reporting Conference
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction will host a free conference at the Central Wisconsin Convention & Expo Center in Rothschild, WI, on March 20-21, 2019. The conference will be a full day March 20 and a half-day March 21. The mission is to present attendees with a better understanding of state and federal reporting requirements, including any updates and changes for the 2019-20 school year, as well as to provide attendees with information related to new features and functionality in WISE applications. Sessions will include demos, SIS vendor and user testimonials and input, and DPI staff guidance. More information can be found at https://dpi.wi.gov/wisedata/conference
School Folders Available

We have additional blue school folders available. If you are currently out or if you did not order any, we have additional folders available. The folders match the marketing documents that were created and are a great tool to use for Open Houses, Parent Nights or to provide to prospective families. Please contact Lori Paul to get them sent to you.
Safe Environment Audits

Just a reminder that Safe Environment Audits start in April. All schools must be in compliance before that time. Please meet with your LoSec to make sure all staff, volunteers, coaches, etc., have met the requirements.
2019-2020 Contracts

The main contract change for 2019-20 is under #8 of the School Administrator and the Teacher contracts:

If the employee is off of work due to an illness, a leave of absence or a workers compensation injury the said payments may be stopped. 
 
Teacher: (#8)
Employees are entitled to only-school-year payments if requested. If the employee is off of work due to an illness, a leave of absence or a workers compensation injury the said payments may be stopped.

The Holocaust and Contemporary Issues

NCEA has a long standing partnership with the Anti-Defamation League through which we offer an annual summer institute for educators on Anti-Semitism, teaching the Holocaust from and inter-faith perspective and how to address contemporary issues in the classroom related to bias, prejudice and bigotry. It is open to, Catholic educators who work with students in grades 6-12 particularly in the areas of Social Studies, Religion and English.

This is a selective process, as all expenses, including travel and accommodations are paid for those selected. Applications are accepted through March 20, 2019. 
Lifest is Coming

Mark your calendars for July 11-14 when Oshkosh will again host LIFEST! The Diocese will have a booth in the exhibit hall as well as activities at our campsite. Bishop Ricken will be celebrating mass on Sunday, July 14th. This is a great way to get our students excited about their faith! We are working on discounted tickets for our students!

Good News in Our Catholic Schools
Congratulations to the team at All Saints Catholic School in Antigo. They are projected to have an increase of 25 new students for the 2019-2020 school year and currently have waiting lists for 4K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade!
