Cathy Schwieger Named
Director of Grantmaking of CFFRV
The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley (CFFRV) is pleased to introduce
Cathy Schwieger as its new Director of Grantmaking.

Schwieger comes to CFFRV after serving as the Director of Communications at Aurora University, where she developed and implemented innovative marketing strategies for a variety of internal clients, creating a stronger brand identity for the university. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Development at Fox Valley United Way. Among her other accomplishments there, she developed partnerships and collaborations with local businesses and organizations, diversified FVUW's donor base, and led multiple volunteer committees.

"Cathy's magnetism and love for the community are clear as soon as you meet her," said Julie Christman, president and CEO. "It's that ability to form such genuine connections that will make her stand out in this new role."

As CFFRV's Director of Grantmaking, Schwieger will administer the Discretionary Grantmaking program – stewarding relationships with nonprofit agencies and advisory fund representatives, marketing the program to the community, and more. She will also lead the Youth Engagement in Philanthropy (YEP) program, guiding students through their own grantmaking program while they learn more about philanthropy, leadership, and active citizenship in unique ways.

Schwieger is excited to lend her talents to an organization she's admired for years.

"The breadth of CFFRV's work is truly incredible," Schwieger said. "I am humbled and honored to support our area nonprofits, equip the next generation of philanthropists, and promote our brand of charitable giving in the Fox River Valley."
