Dear Friends,
It's been almost one year since I left the mid-Hudson valley to return to CT to pause and regroup. It has been a nourishing and productive time for me yielding two of the most significant gifts - time with my daughter, Phoebe and time in the studio.
The time that I have shared with my daughter this past year has brought me endless joy, pride, and gratitude. I could not ask for a more loving, supportive, and generous daughter. I'm so grateful for the laughs we shared and the memories we made, they have truly buoyed me through this difficult year.
The other gift that I received came from the generosity of dear friends in the form of underwriting a studio for the year. I was able to find a great space in an industrial building in Winsted, CT. where I have been blissfully working since last October. Time and space is all an artist needs and over the course of the past nine months I experienced a burst of creativity and a dramatic shift in my work both in scale and imagery, moving from memory-based figurative works to an abstract vocabulary and from formerly intimately-scaled works to paintings that now measure 5 x 5 feet.
I am humbled by this past year and unendingly grateful to everyone who has given their support and love. A special shout out to my dear friend Petra (and her staff!) for hosting me in Woodstock over this past year.
And now, the next chapter begins. I'm excited to announce that I will be returning to the Catskills and moving to Olivebridge at the end of the month. I look forward to being among the mountains again and to re-connecting with my dear friends. To all of my beloved friends in CT - it has been so heartwarming to see so many of you again, and I am still only a couple hours away and will continue to return on a regular basis.
Onward!
