National Teapot Show XI
Now through September 7, 2020
Just One More Week
Only one week left to see the National Teapot Show XI in person. It will be three years before the next teapot show, so don't miss out!
We still have a variety of teapots available, including several teapots that arrived after the opening of the show.
Clicking on any of these teapot pictures will take you to more information about them, or click here to see the entire show online.
If your heart is set on a teapot in the show that is already sold, please give us a call at 919-528-1041, we may be able to help.

Viewer's Choice Award
Pictures are great, but we have to admit, there's nothing like seeing the entire teapot show in person! If you are able to visit the gallery, be sure to cast a vote for your favorite teapot. When the teapot show is over, votes will be tallied, and one teapot will be awarded the Viewer's Choice Award. Come see the show during its final week and be a part of selecting the winner!

Teapots to Go Will Be Going Away, Too
While we usually carry a few teapots in the gallery, the Teapots to Go section will wind down when the teapot show ends in September.
If you've been thinking about purchasing a teapot, now is the time! The wide variety of teapots we currently have in stock will not be available in the months to come. For now, in addition to what is in the National Teapot Show XI, we have a fabulous array of teapots from Marsha Owen, Fong Choo, CJ Niehaus, Laurie Shaman, Ryan Greenheck, Wendy Werstlein, and more.
See something you like in the pictures below? Give us a call at 919-528-1041 for more information or to purchase over the phone.
Teapots in our Teapots To Go section are not part of the National Teapot Show, which means you can take them home today!

Glasslight Studio
Joel and Candace Bless
Joel’s lifelong passion for glassblowing began at the Rochester Institute of Technology. It was the early 1970’s and RIT had just opened its School for American Crafts glassblowing program. He met his future wife Candace while they were both students at RIT, and by the late 1970's they went on to establish Glasslight Studio in the beautiful rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Candace became involved in glassblowing through Joel, and designs the form and color composition for many of their pieces. She is also chiefly responsible for the company’s back office and operations. While Candace's positivity and kind disposition keep Glasslight Studio running smoothly, Joel enjoys the role of artisan and spokesman for the craft. He is always excited to meet new people and truly enjoys answering questions about his work.
We have a great new selection of Glasslight Studio's stunning work in the gallery, including lamps, menorahs, bud vases, and candlesticks.

Last month our glass birds from WGK Art Glass literally flew off the shelves! We now have a great selection of your favorite handcrafted glass birds back in stock.

Frank Stofan got his first taste of pottery-making when he took an introductory ceramics course in college, an admittedly frustrating experience that made him realize that throwing pots on a wheel isn't as easy as it looks. "Originally, I thought my art history major would lead to a museum curatorial position. But because I really like working with my hands, my decision to become a potter seems like a good career choice in retrospect."
Frank opened his own studio in 1998. Each piece of stoneware is hand thrown, glazed, and fired to 2300 degrees. The wood ash glaze is formulated with ashes recycled from his neighbors wood stoves. The ashes help melt other elements in the glaze, creating the tree-like effect found on many of his pieces.
We have carried Frank's work in the gallery for many years, and are thrilled to announce that his work is now also available in our online store! Clicking on the pictures above will take you to more information about specific pieces, or scroll through our online pottery category to see a wider selection. Frank’s pottery is beautiful, and also food, microwave and dishwasher safe.

Pumpkins Are Coming!
It's almost that time of year, and we can't wait to share our new collection of handcrafted glass pumpkins by Lisa Oakley.
The Pumpkin Patch will open in the gallery on
Friday, September 18.
If visiting the pumpkin patch in person isn't an option for you this year, our online pumpkin patch will also launch on September 18, so you can browse pumpkins from the comfort of home!
In the meantime, if you need a pumpkin now, we already have a small selection of pumpkins available in the gallery.
We will also have a Lisa Oakley Limited Edition pumpkin this year, which will be available both online and in the gallery
Friday, October 2.

Meet Cedar Creek Gallery's
Newest Onsite Artist:
Evelyn Ward
Evelyn began her journey with clay more than twenty years ago during her undergraduate studies in printmaking. She was initially drawn to pottery because it appealed to the spontaneous and playful part of her spirit, and enjoys using some of the skills she learned as a printmaker when creating her ceramic pieces.
Using a technique called mono-print slip transfer, she paints colored slips onto pieces of paper and places them on earthenware pots that have dried for a day or two and are “leather hard”. When the paper is peeled away, it reveals a clean-edged and visually textured surface design. The pots are bisque fired, then glaze fired, to produce the final result.
Away from the studio, Evelyn enjoys spending time with her husband, four Great Pyrenees dogs, and a flock of nearly 100 chickens on their small farm in Person County.
We’ve always enjoyed Evelyn’s work, and are excited that she is now part of the Cedar Creek family!

Is your summer vegetable garden looking a little sad? The plant nursery at Cedar Creek Gallery has got you covered!
Winter vegetables are on the horizon: Radicchios, Endives, Kales, Mustards, and Lettuces (once temperatures cool down some more). Edible and ornamental, some even too pretty to eat!

Also coming soon are the cool season annuals: Thistles, White Lace Flower, Dame's Rocket, Poppies, and Wallflowers, all best planted in the fall to bloom in the spring, then exit to make room for summer
color.
