Volunteer Spotlight: Ken

Ken was seeking an outlet after retiring from his retail career. As a frequent shopper at ReStore who enjoyed finding new inspiration in our aisles, Ken decided volunteering could provide the activity and social time he was seeking. He has been a regular in our ReStore scrapping area for the past three years.

"Working at the ReStore gives me a sense of accomplishment. I enjoy the other volunteers and the people that work there are great."

Parade of Homes

This annual event organized by the Greater Cedar Rapids Housing & Building Association offers local residents the opportunity to view many of the area’s best new and remodeled homes.

This year Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity will be showcasing a new construction home built through the Students Building Community internship. We are also showcasing a home built in 1895, recently rehabilitated by the Kirkwood Carpentry program, our 2024 Habitat Heart Award recipient.

Please come out and see them!
