Vern began volunteering not long after his daughter completed Habitat's Affordable Homeownership Program. Vern helped build her home and when the ReStore opened soon after, he has been "at it ever since".

"I like fixing things, keeping as much as we can out of the landfill, and generating income for new houses. I've made many long-term friends that I look forward to seeing every week."
