Cedars Tennis Resort & Club Newsletter
Cheryl Hindle | Resort & Club Manager
It is great to be back at Cedars. A big 'thank you' to everyone who has made me feel so welcome. We have a great team in place and look forward to serving you and enhancing your club experience.

You will begin to see a few improvements over the next few months They include: wind screens, landscaping, lighting and fence repair. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Cedars Board and Association Members for their support on the community improvements. The Board generously donated the light poles we will be installing.

We held several events that were enjoyed by all and we encourage each of you to stop by the Pro Shop to sign up - there are so many events going on right now that you won't want to miss!

NOTES OF THANKS:

Special thanks to Jim & Doris Forst for their leadership to our recent Membership Tournament.

Special thanks to Doris & Cheryl for running last months trivia night - it was a blast!

You may know that you "should" come to the net more often to finish the point, but somehow you resist the urge and stick to the comfort of the baseline. Why is that?

Maybe you resist coming to the net because you feel uncomfortable there. So you need to dig even deeper and ask yourself why do you feel uncomfortable at the net?

One possible reason is you don't trust your volley and overhead skills.
This mistrust can be legitimate -- meaning your net skills are really not that good and you make too many mistakes Or your net skills are actually good but your opinion about them is negative.

In order to get an accurate evaluation of your real net skills you'll need to ask some friends and pros to evaluate your game and then make the conclusion.

And in case your net skills are really not good, just practice more. And there is no better way to do that than to approach the net more often!

Tennis Court Maintenance
We are in the process of adding windscreens to courts 2-10. Hopefully, by the end of February you will see some nice improvements around the courts.
Ladies Round Robin
Thank you to all that came out January 29th to participate! They enjoyed challenging play followed by lunch in the Cafe.

Pro Shop Notes | Sarah McCoy
With more and more people returning to Cedars, the courts are getting busier. If someone does not show up 10-15 minutes after the requested booking time, I will open the court back up to give others a chance to play. This also means that there are no booking warm up courts before league matches.

The Fitness Center is equally busy this time of year. We ask that when you use the equipment that you please put it back where it belongs. As always if you use a towel, please return it to the bin. This way everyone has a clean towel while visiting the fitness center. Thank you!
Rental Activity: It has been my pleasure finally meeting with everyone that I have had recent email communication with. Rentals are up and running, please see me as soon as possible to secure your unit for next year! -Megan
Cafe Corner: We are happy to report that Cathy will be returning March 1st! Both staff and members have missed Cathy during her absence due to injury. We would like to thank our members for their patience and support during this time and to Chard and Angie for keeping us up and running!
