Marine Corporal Todd Nicely will never forget his Achilles International Hope & Possibility® races. Nicely was seriously wounded in March 2010 by an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan. That summer, he completed the Hope & Possibility® race with Prince Harry of the British Royal family by his side. Just one year later, he returned as the first quadruple amputee to run the race on his prosthetics in just under 66 minutes.
"Looking back, I have great memories with great people at this race. I didn't think I would actually make it to the finish line on race day, but it was the amazing people on the sidelines that cheered me on and helped me push through to the end," he says. “It was surreal to be pushed by Prince Harry, but the highlight for me was returning the following year and running myself on my two prosthetics without any assistance.”
