National Western Stock Show Kick-off Parade

January 9, 2025, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Start: Union Station at 17th Street & End: 17th & Glenarm Pl

The National Western Stock Show Kick-off Parade is set for Thursday, January 9, 2025, from noon to 2 pm. The parade starts at Union Station, travels along 17th Street to Glenarm, turns left onto Glenarm to 18th, and loops back to Coors Field Parking Lot A. Featuring Longhorn cattle, cowboy hats, boots, and chaps, this beloved event brings the spirit of the Stock Show to Downtown Denver!


IMPACT

Rolling Street Closures: Wynkoop closures start at 10 am, and 17th closures begin at 11:30 am. Wynkoop will be closed from Coors Lot to 17th, followed by 13 blocks down 17th from Wynkoop to Glenarm, and Glenarm to 18th, finally reaching 18th to Coors Field Lot A. Parade participants will return to Wynkoop via 18th Street. Stay vigilant for everyone's safety. Drivers, keep a safe distance from horses and riders as they return to the parade staging area.


Parking: Parking meters near 17th & Wynkoop and both sides along 17th to 17th & Glenarm will be bagged from the evening of Wednesday, January 8, 2025, until 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025, after the parade concludes. Wynkoop, from 17th to Glenarm, will be closed, with intermittent traffic pass-throughs.

2025 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Marade

January 20, 2025, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Marade is scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025, with the program beginning at 9:30 AM at the "I Have a Dream" Monument in City Park. The Marade procession, stepping off from City Park at 10:45 AM, will follow a route south on the East High School Esplanade, turning west on Colfax, and concluding at Civic Center Park, Colfax and Broadway. The program will continue at Civic Center Park showcasing local youth leaders, and providing a platform for the voices of tomorrow. All are welcome to participate in fellowship, presentations, service projects, and vendor offerings.


IMPACT:

Street Closures: Colfax Ave between Esplanade and Broadway will be closed to traffic on January 20 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Holiday Light and Music Shows, City & County Building

The holiday lights at the City and County Building continue to shine bright every night* through Jan 26 with choreographed light and music shows occurring at 5:45 pm and 6:45 pm.


*NOTE: the show will not play on Mondays due to City Council meetings, but the static light display will still shine.


IMPACT: No street closures.

Downtown Denver Rink at Skyline Park
