Join us on Tuesday, September 12, 6-8:30 pm at Southern Market to celebrate the entrepreneurs and community partners who have contributed to building an ethical and equitable economy. Doors will open at 5:30 pm.

ASSETS is excited to announce that we are launching a podcast! It will be called Built by Us Podcast. We started this podcast to shine a spotlight on the entrepreneurs of Lancaster County and give them a platform to share their stories in their own voices. With the much-appreciated help and guidance of So Good Media at The Candy Factory, we just wrapped the recording process for our first 5 episodes. Bringing the Flavors of Morocco to Pennsylvania (ASSETS at 30: Part 1)
Bushra Fakier opened Flavors of Morocco at Southern Market in January 2022, but sharing the tastes and culture from Morocco, her home country, with others started in Ontario Canada. Not finding a Moroccan community, restaurants, or grocery stores in Hamilton, Ontario, she began creating Moroccan-themed parties and events to share her culture. Partner to Empower by Brookfield Properties
Partner to Empower is a program dedicated to helping break down the systemic racial barriers that members of our communities face. They help business owners of color, including but not limited to Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Asian, and Pacific Islander Americans, open brick-and-mortar stores in our malls by providing:

  • One-on-one business planning and guidance
  • Networking opportunities and resources
  • Funding dedicated to store construction expenses
  • A tailored, four-week Retail Workshop led by industry experts

Applications are now open through Aug 11th.
