Celebrate All American Pet Photo Day
By Adopting A New Furry Friend

Los Angeles, July 9, 2021 – Strike a pose and celebrate All American Pet Photo Day (July 11) by bringing home a new pet from LA Animal Services. To encourage pet adoption, LA Animal Services will be offering reduced adoption fees from Saturday, July 10 through Monday, July 12, so adoption fees for dogs will be $51 (not including license) and $75 for puppies. The adoption fees for cats and kittens will be waived thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA.
Snap a photo of your pet and tag us on All American Pet Photo Day! Post your photos on social media -- using the hashtags #LAAnimalServices and #LACityPets to be featured on our social media channels!
Adopt a Pet
If you would like to adopt a specific pet you see on our website, please follow these steps:

Visit laanimalservices.com/adopt and identify an animal you would like to adopt.
- Call 888-452-7381 with the Animal ID number or A# (example: A1234567).
- LA Animal Services will share all the information available on that animal.
- If you’re interested in moving forward with the adoption, LA Animal Services will take your information and schedule a pick-up appointment.
- During the appointment, staff will introduce you to your selected animal.
- To follow COVID-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be observed and face coverings will be required during your scheduled appointment.
If you would like to visit one of our centers to view pets available for adoption, please follow these steps:
- Call 888-452-7381 to make an appointment.

Potential adopters will be provided an appointment date and time, and will be encouraged to view available animals on our website at laanimalservices.com/adopt prior to their appointment.
- Upon arrival for the appointment, staff and volunteers will guide the adopter through the kennels to view animals available for adoption. in mind, and will provide all available information on the animals.
- If there is an animal you are interested in adopting, our staff or a volunteer will provide you with all available information on the animal, and you will be escorted to a designated area so you can get acquainted with the animal(s).
- To follow COVID-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be observed and face coverings will be required during your scheduled appointment.
Share Your Love Story
LA Animal Services invites adopters to submit their pet’s adoption story and help us receive a lifesaving grant worth up to $100,000.
Pet families who have adopted from LA Animal Services are encouraged to share their love story -- the big and small ways their adopted pet has changed their life for the better! All submissions must include four photos, one of the pet; one of the pet with their family; and two additional photos. You may also add a video to help illustrate your story. To verify, the adoption is from LA Animal Services, please list Dana Brown, ani.socialmedia@lacity.org, as the contact person on the submission form. Visit petcolove.org/lovestories/ to read prior year’s winning entries and get some inspiration.
Your story submission also will enter you for a chance to win a Petco shopping spree, BOBS from Skechers shoes, and help LA Animal Services earn a $100,000 lifesaving grant award from Petco Love (formerly The Petco Foundation).
