It's time once again to celebrate Independence Day, as we have been doing now for 244 years. On the Fourth of July, we remember the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, which formally severed all ties between England and the United States in 1776. Since then, the U.S. has become the most powerful and influential nation on earth, thanks in large part to the freedoms that our founders guaranteed. Our history has been a process of striving to extend those freedoms to all citizens and to act as a force for good in our world. God has greatly blessed the United States and we should be thankful for His hand of providence on our land.
