Joshua America's 250th Celebration

Event Guide, Parking, Road Closures & Important Reminders

Joshua America’s 250th Celebration Parking, Viewing Areas, and Road Closure Information

The City of Joshua is excited to welcome the community to the Joshua America’s 250th Celebration on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Joshua ISD Football Stadium parking lot.

To help everyone arrive safely and enjoy the event, the map below shows all designated parking areas, viewing locations, and temporary road closures in place throughout the evening. Staff members and volunteers will be stationed throughout the event area to assist with parking and help direct traffic.

Guests will notice that two designated viewing lots have been established to provide ample space for families and friends to gather and enjoy the evening's entertainment. We encourage everyone to arrive early, explore the vendor and food truck areas, and enjoy live music before the spectacular drone show begins at dusk.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating in the viewing areas. Please note that the designated viewing lots are reserved for chairs and blankets only to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

As a reminder, this event takes place during Texas's summer, and pavement and ground surfaces can become extremely hot throughout the day. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and use caution when sitting or walking on hot surfaces.

We look forward to celebrating America’s 250th birthday with our community and thank everyone for helping make this a safe and memorable event.

Items Not Allowed

For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, the following items are prohibited at the Joshua America’s 250th Celebration:

  • Fireworks of any kind
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and similar products
  • Electronic smoking devices, including e-cigarettes and vaping products
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Personal drones or remote-controlled aircraft
  • Tents, canopies, large umbrellas in viewing areas
  • Motorized vehicles, including ATVs, UTVs, golf carts, dirt bikes, minibikes, go-karts, and scooters (except authorized event, emergency, or accessibility vehicles).
  • Any item deemed unsafe or disruptive by event staff or law enforcement

Please help us create a safe, family-friendly environment by respecting these restrictions. Attendees found possessing prohibited items may be asked to remove them from the event area or leave the event.

This is especially important since the City of Joshua maintains a family-oriented atmosphere for the celebration and expects all guests to comply with event rules and staff directions.

Help Us Protect Our Four-Legged Friends: Service Animals Only at the Joshua America’s 250th Celebration

The City of Joshua is looking forward to welcoming thousands of guests to the Joshua America’s 250th Celebration on July 3. While we know many of our residents love bringing their pets along for family outings, we respectfully ask that attendees leave their pets at home for this event.

Due to the extreme July temperatures and the large crowds expected throughout the evening, the event environment may not be safe or comfortable for pets. Hot pavement can quickly burn sensitive paw pads, and even with access to water, animals can experience heat stress or heat-related illness in a short amount of time.

To help protect the health and safety of animals, only trained service animals assisting individuals with disabilities will be permitted within the event area.

Our goal is not to exclude pets, but to ensure their well-being. The combination of hot pavement, limited shade, loud music, large crowds, food vendors, and the evening drone show can create stressful conditions for many animals.

We encourage pet owners to allow their furry family members to stay cool and comfortable at home while they enjoy the celebration. Your pets will be much happier relaxing indoors with air conditioning than spending several hours on hot asphalt in the Texas summer heat.

Thank you for helping us protect our animals and for supporting a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

Reminder: Service animals trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities are welcome. Pets, emotional support animals, and comfort animals should remain at home for their safety and comfort.

Important Reminder for Families Attending the

Joshua America’s 250th Celebration

As we prepare for an exciting evening of family fun, live entertainment, and our spectacular drone show, we want to share a few important reminders to help everyone have a safe and enjoyable experience.

The FREE Kids Zone will close promptly at 9:00 PM. This closure allows staff and volunteers time to safely secure all attractions and prepare for the drone show.

For the safety of all children, parents or guardians must remain with their children at all times while visiting the Kids Zone and throughout the event. Children should never be left unattended.

At approximately 9:28 PM, lighting throughout portions of the event area will be turned off to prepare for the drone show. We encourage all attendees to make their way to the designated viewing areas before this time and be settled in their seats.

Remember:

  • Bring your lawn chairs or blankets for viewing.
  • Viewing areas are for chairs and blankets only.
  • The ground may still be hot from the July temperatures, so please plan accordingly.
  • Be in the viewing area and ready for the show before the lights go down.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to provide a safe and memorable celebration for our community. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Joshua America’s 250th Celebration and ending the evening with an incredible drone show at dusk!

Will I Be Able to See the Drone Show From My Home?

As excitement builds for Joshua's first-ever drone show during the America’s 250th Celebration, one of the most common questions we have received is:

“If I live near the stadium, will I be able to see the drone show from my house?”

The answer is maybe, but it depends on your location.

Residents who live behind the stadium may be able to see the drones in the sky; however, many of the images and animations will appear backwards or reversed from that angle, making some of the designs difficult to recognize.

If you live in the area around Brookshire’s or other nearby locations, you may catch portions of the show, but due to the distance, lighting conditions, and viewing angle, you likely will not be able to fully appreciate the details, effects, and artwork that make the drone show such a unique experience.

For those planning to watch from a distance, there is good news. When the drone show begins, The Journey 88.3 FM will broadcast the show's music and soundtrack. Simply tune your radio to 88.3 FM to listen along and enjoy the synchronized audio wherever you are watching.

To experience the drone show as it was designed to be seen, we encourage everyone to bring a chair and join us in the designated viewing area. Attendees will enjoy the best view of every image, animation, and patriotic display while also enjoying live music and celebrating America’s 250th birthday with friends, family, and neighbors.

The City of Joshua has worked hard to bring this unique experience to our community, and the designated viewing area will provide the best opportunity to enjoy every moment of the show from start to finish.

Bring your chair, enjoy the music, tune in to The Journey 88.3 FM if watching from afar, and experience the drone show the way it was designed to be seen!
