November 2020
Celebrate Autumn in Massachusetts
Fall foliage peaks, cranberry harvests, museum exhibits and Thanksgiving - November is a perfect time to enjoy Massachusetts.

As you travel around the Commonwealth this month, please support our small businesses in cities and towns, resort areas, rural villages and farmlands, as well as our museums, visitor attractions and historical sites. Our Main Streets businesses need our support now more than ever.
Our state initiative, My Local MA, offers a perfect way to share your experience by using #MyLocalMA on social media. And please, don't forget to #MaskupMA! You can find more information at findmylocalma.com or visitma.com.

Richard Nielsen: This is Not a Gag: Los Angeles-based artist Richard Nielsen reveals the fiercest and finest parts of human nature in This is Not a Gag, his series of portraits of people in their face masks, on view at Mass MoCA in North Adams beginning November 7. The subjects' faces may be covered, but variations in masks and individual expressions speak volumes about our lives today. Among the subjects are artists, writers, and friends of Nielsen and Mass MoCA; and if you look closely you might just recognize some of those fiery eyes️. Some other artists also on view: James Turrell, Gamaliel Rodriguez, Wendy Red Star, Ledelle Moe, Kissing through a Curtain, ERRE and Sol LeWitt.
