Greetings,

As we conclude Black History Month, we commemorate The National Association of Black Accountants and celebrate the relaunch of one of its most prominent chapters, The Atlanta Chapter.

A RICH LEGACY
Since its inception in 1969, The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) has addressed systematic challenges faced by Black accounting professionals. In the late 1960s, there were approximately 100,000 people who held the CPA designation, of which 150 were Black. Since then, NABA has created solutions that eliminate barriers to entry in the accounting profession for underrepresented minorities. Today, through the efforts of NABA, and other interest groups like the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), there are more than 200,000 underrepresented minorities participating in the field of accounting, with more than 5,000 holding the CPA designation.

NABA NOW
Over 50 years later, The National Association of Black Accountants, now known as NABA INC., continues its commitment to its mission and legacy by providing a platform for Black business leaders and allied institutions to enhance their business acumen and elevate their voices. NABA has expanded its mission of “Lifting as We Climb” by creating solutions that bridge the opportunity and wealth gaps for Black business leaders in accounting, finance, business and entrepreneurship.

NABA ATLANTA RELAUNCH
As a part of our expanded mission, we have centralized our operations and revamped our local chapters to meet the needs of our professional and student members in “Empowering Black Business Leaders at Every Step in the Journey.” In partnership with our national leadership team and on behalf of the NABA Atlanta Executive Board, we would like to thank you for your patience as we completed the restructuring of our organization and your continued support as we move forward as One NABA. In celebration of The Atlanta Chapter’s relaunch, The Altanta Chapter's Executive Board will host an in-person Town Hall and Membership Drive; a save-the-date invite with further details will be provided. Please submit inquiries to info-atlanta@nabachapters.org
