Thursday - Saturday, October 22 - 24
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  And this week is designated as the Week of Action encouraging everyone to do at least ONE thing to raise awareness or help create a safer community. This Thursday is also #Purple Thursday, a day to wear purple to stand with survivors of domestic violence.

It's the PERFECT time to share warmth and hugs with donations of NEW coats and sweaters for the women and children in shelter at Rose Brooks Center, our local domestic violence shelter.

Coat and Sweater Drive for Rose Brooks Center
Our coat and sweater drive for Rose Brooks Center has changed to fit these COVID times with our accepting only NEW coats and sweaters this year. (Please do not bring used items of any kind. We can not accept them for Rose Brooks.) We invite you to help us send "Harvest Hugs" by the bushels with your coat and sweater donations.
AND we are so EXCITED to announce a $750 matching grant for Rose Brooks Center from Barbara, Brad, and the staff at Innovest Financial Partners. To help get this grant, give us a call or stop in.

   As our thank you for your coat/sweater donations OR a donation of $20 or more, we'll hand you a Harvest coupon good for 20% off all* your purchases on any one of the 3 days of this special Harvest Hugs Coat and Sweater Drive.

  Harvest Hugs checklist:
    1. Brand-new coats and sweaters - tags on!
    2. If packaged in plastic, leave them in the bag.
    3. Put all donations in a plastic bag 
    4. Bring to World's Window, October 22 - 24, 2020

  OR to make a monetary donation:
   1. Call us with your credit card donation. 816-361-2500. We’ll send you a receipt
and tell you a coupon code to use if you want to shop online these 3 days of
Harvest Hugs.
   2. Come in and hand us cash and we’ll hand you a receipt and coupon.
   3. Write a check directly to Rose Brooks & we’ll pass it along to them.
   4. Come between 10 am and 2 pm on Saturday, Oct. 24. Katy from Rose Brooks
will be at World’s Window to process your donation directly to Rose Brooks.

On Tuesday morning, Della hosted one of our long-time, beloved customers in a closed-store, personal shopping hour. Sandra spent the entire hour wandering and choosing and trying on and exploring while the store was quiet. With no worries about how safe she was in a more public space, she shopped and we wrapped, and she left with new outfits for herself and many, many presents wrapped and ready for gifting.
