NAMIC-New York
celebrated National Women's Month in style as they partnered with WICT and Buzzfeed for two sold-out events. 

On March 20th they produced a panel titled, "The Equity Mindset: How Women in Tech Are Changing the Game" that consisted of a diverse group of women with varying experiences and perspectives that made for an introspective conversation. NAMIC-New York members Jessica Santana (moderator), Francilia Wilkins Rahmin, Daniela Caicedo, Dacquiri Conners, Gloria Lee, and Swara Kantaria formed the extraordinary panel.

Additionally ,
on March 22nd they joined WICT at the Rubin Museum for an evening of networking and an enlightening Women's Empowerment Tour of Himalayan Art. 


NAMIC-Virginia member  Dania Matos was named associate chancellor, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, University of California, Merced "Dania Matos to Lead Campus Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts"

NAMIC-Southern California member James Wright, senior manager, Diversity & Inclusion, Apple authored "Why the Diversity Landscape is Still Slanted Towards Inequality"

When Nahnatchka Khan set out to adapt Eddie Huang's memoir for television, she had no plans of shifting any industry narratives. The veteran scribe just wanted her pilot, which focused on the famous Taiwanese-American chef's childhood in 1990s Florida, to be seen by more than a test audience and a handful of executives.
Having grown up as a minority in a Pennsylvania steel town, Kim is comfortable now in a place with a robust Asian-American community. Diversity and representation are important to Kim, both in life and at work.

The TV scriptwriters workshop is held in partnership with Comcast NBCUniversal, The Walt Disney Company, HBO, and Kung Fu Monkey Productions. It is designed to prepare Native Americans for writing careers at major television networks. Fellows take part in a five-week curriculum curated by seasoned writing executives.


Univision made good on a promise to sell its online properties on Monday when it announced that it has sold Gizmodo Media Group, which includes the family of websites formerly known as Gawker Media.
Disney, WarnerMedia and other media giants are going "direct to consumer" with new subscription streaming services. And with Disney and WarnerMedia expected to spend billions on their services - Apple, too, for that matter - a lot of attention has justifiably gone to the looming battle over subscription streaming video.

Last week, Budweiser kicked off a campaign paying tribute to baseball legend and civil rights hero Jackie Robinson with "Impact," an ad directed by Spike Lee and narrated by Robinson's daughter, Sharon Robinson.
