Dear Friends of BLNC,
Not surprisingly, Earth Day holds a special place in the hearts of the Bluff Lake team. We are dedicated to conserving this natural sanctuary, especially as development continues to thrive around us. The site serves so many different people, plants, animals, and ecosystems, all within our modest 123 acres, and we are thankful that we have the support of our staff, volunteers, donors, and so many more to keep Bluff Lake accessible to all.
We will have an Earth Day Welcome Booth on Saturday, April 23, from 9AM-2PM on site with fun free activities for all ages! That same day, we will also have a booth at the City of Aurora's Earth Day Celebrations at the Aurora Reservoir 10AM-3PM.
We hope you will join us, either for Earth Day or another program, to celebrate this wonderful place and all that the Earth does for us.
-Rachel Hutchens, Executive Director

Site Update from Erickson

What an interesting spring it’s been so far! The warmer weather has allowed us to do more on the site, and we’ve been busy with a wide variety of projects. Read on to hear about the work we've been doing with Graland Country Day School, Mile High Youth Corps, our own Weed Warriors volunteers, as well as wildlife updates including great horned owls, Swainson’s hawks, and game cam footage of a fox, beaver, and more!

Friday Weed Warriors: On Friday mornings from February through November (weather dependent), a small group of volunteers meets at Bluff Lake to work on restoration projects. The group pulls invasive species, collects seeds, or repairs trails. The work is geared for all skill levels, and you’re bound to learn quite a bit from our experienced core of volunteers and staff.
Trash Pick-Up: We are always in need of trash pick-up on site. Our volunteer page (link below) has more information on how to join a group or plan your own.
