Board of Forestry Update

Join the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection's Zone 0 Regulations Advisory Committee as they visit the Los Angeles region to listen, learn, and share more about its work to create a more wildfire resilient California.

This meeting will feature a staff presentation on draft regulations, followed by a panel discussion highlighting communities that are implementing local versions of Zone 0. The program will conclude with a forward looking panel discussion on upcoming legislation, resources and assistance for communities.

Pre-register for this event for both in person and online attendance. "We also recommend that those wishing to provide in-person comment arrive early as public comment will be heard in the order it is received."

The event aims to foster a healthy, positive relationship between Santa Monica Mountains residents, the environment, and the role of fire in the ecosystem. This is not your average safety fair! Event attendees will be able to engage with local professionals to learn about fire ecology, home hardening, best defensible space and land management practices, fire-safe construction, native plants, and more.
