In celebration of Earth Day and Eco-Trip Gloucester, the Cape Ann Chamber in partnership with Shred-It Boston will be offering free on-site shredding services on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at 33 Commercial Street in Gloucester.
Participants are encouraged to bring up to two file boxes of old paperwork and documents to be shredded and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
A downtown scavenger hunt will commence from 12:30 to 2:30 pm as community members will learn exactly how local stores and other businesses help the environment by using green technology.
Participating businesses include Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, Cape Ann Farmers' Market, Nor'east Cleaners, Jim's Bagel & Bake Shoppe, Harbor Health Group, Dogtown Books, Mill River Consulting and Latitude 43.
Eco-Trip players will solve verbal and visual puzzles that will tell them what green feature each location uses. Players are encouraged to walk to each business, as all are located in Gloucester's downtown area. The event will culminate with an after party including light refreshments and prizes from local merchants at Latitude 43 from 2:30 to 3:00 pm.
