What is your dream for the Church?
  • “I didn’t plan on sharing my story at first, but the others were so honest and heartfelt that I really was given the courage by being in this group. It was so powerful.”
  • “I am hopeful about this process. I think the Holy Spirit can do more than we ever imagined. We can be cynical, but this is different, this is a new moment.”
  • “Painful/powerful/wonderful. The Holy Spirit is alive and well.”

Every member of the Cathedral community is invited to participate in the worldwide Synodal process initiated by Pope Francis. “Every encounter–as we know–calls for openness, courage and a willingness to let ourselves be challenged by the presence and the stories of others…. the experience of encounter changes us; frequently it opens up new and unexpected possibilities” (Pope Francis). Sign up online to attend ONE gathering, and share your dream for the Church:

News and Notices
ST VINCENT DE PAUL VISITS A SINGLE MOTHER A young mother works at home while juggling her time with an infant and a seven year old. After receiving reduced pay when taking a short maternity leave, she found herself short of rent money. The woman called the St Vincent de Paul Helpline requesting assistance (206-767-6449). The day we visited over a telephone call she had just taken care of a computer issue with the IT department of her employer and was preparing food for her baby. With your support, we were able to pay a portion of her rent and provide other resources. Information, Jo Ann Wiesner, 206-291-4012 or wiesnerjo@gmail.com.

HAPPY EASTER! Our CRS Rice Bowl journey has ended, but our prayers, fasting and almsgiving continue as we seek a closer relationship with God and our global family. Let us hold in our hearts our sisters and brothers in Guatemala, Bangladesh and Rwanda and commit to share our Easter joy with those in our local community and around the world. As we bask in the glow of Easter, let us pray together:
Lord Jesus, you call us to a conversion of heart,
and you give us the tools to do this
through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving;
When we pray, help us remember
the needs of our sisters and brothers;
When we fast, help us offer our sacrifice
in union with you;
When we give, help us recognize our gifts
are from you so that we are generous with others.
If you donated to CRS Rice Bowl during Lent, you shared your life and your abundance with our global family in need. Your generosity will put nutritious food on their tables and help them lead healthy lives and help them reach their God-given potential. Don’t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl at Sunday Mass or donate online at www.CRSRiceBowl.org.
