Hickory Bridge Farm Restaurant and B&B

This quaint country restaurant and retreat is located nine miles west of Gettysburg in a restored 1850s barn. The surrounding area is orchard country with a Knouse processing facility nearby. The food is delicious and plentiful. Music will be provided during the tea. The restaurant carefully plans menus for its teas by gathering as many seasonal recipes as possible with locally sourced and fresh ingredients.

So take a nice fall drive through the countryside and enjoy a tea in this 19th Century barn.

Huckleberry Restaurant, Fulton Steamboat Inn

Lancaster, Pa. 17602

We first visited this restaurant last year when they were new to tea. They have gained experience. The menu for our tea will be similar to the one on the website and it does include the soup option. (See the menu here.) November is a good time of year to do Christmas shopping and there are many stores close to the Inn. If you want to take in a Christmas show, the American Music Theater is 1/4 mile up the road. You can make reservations and take in the 3 p.m. show. And, you might want to stay overnight at the Inn and explore Lancaster County.

Parking: Members should park on the south side of the Inn for the entrance to restaurant (not on the Route 30 side).

Mobility: There are no steps.

Cost: $49, club members; $54, guests/non-members. Note: Gluten-free is NOT available.

  • Three finger sandwiches and savories;
  • Fresh fruit;
  • Two types of scones with Devonshire cream, jam, and whipped butter;
  • Dessert (Chef's Choice);
  • Champagne or wine; and
  • Pot of tea (choice of three teas and one decaf tea).

The tea room is in a 1823 Federal-style building with 12-foot ceilings. Mary Jo's background as an interior decorator served her well in furnishing this home. This is a leisurely tea so relax, enjoy the surroundings and visit with friends as you enjoy the delicious (and filling) tea.

Parking: There is free parking on both sides of Lincoln Way as well as the side street adjacent to the tearoom.
