EFM Readies for PA Baconfest VIII
As most of you know, this Saturday is no ordinary Market day. It's one of two days when Easton is transformed into the bacon capital of the world. Baconfest, which originated at the Easton Farmers' Market eight years ago, thunders into town this weekend with more than 150 vendors and a plethora of contests, activities and musical acts. EFM vendors will relocate to the 300 block of Northampton Street for the event and maintain festival hours of 10am - 6pm. Be sure to stop by the Farm-to-Fest Culinary Tent (located in the circle) for four fabulous events showcasing local food and chefs. And don't miss our EFM vendors' unique offerings made especially for the fest.

More than just a delicious weekend, PA Bacon Fest is the largest fundraiser for the Greater Easton Development Partnership (GEDP) — a volunteer-driven nonprofit that works to nurture Easton’s economic well-being and cultural vibrancy, and to trumpet all this historic city has to offer. A $2 suggested donation at the festival gates benefits GEDP’s programs — Easton Farmers’ Market, Easton Public Market, Easton Ambassadors, Easton Main Street Initiative, Easton Murals, West Ward Community Initiative, Easton Compost Program, West Ward Community Gardens.

Although this recipe speaks of the bounty of summer, it would be just as good with frozen sweet corn. And it's hearty enough for a Fall dinner.

And this weekend they'll get to show off all their hard work with 42 varieties of bacon, as well as gourmet bacon-on-a-stick, and their new bacon funnel cake -dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with caramel is a must try.
