Celebrate Juneteenth with us this weekend and take a moment while you shop to reflect on where our country has been, and where we're heading. Juneteenth is the oldest known holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. But this holiday is not widely known by Americans. Check out our Juneteenth display, and learn about the African American Coalition of Easton - a new collaborative clearinghouse providing access to support, promotion, and advocacy of initiatives that address racial equity in the African American community of Easton.
What else? Some of our vendors will be featuring Juneteenth items honoring African American culture or highlighting red foods. Why red foods? Find out here. Food is a memorable part of any celebration and holds special significance within the history of Juneteenth. We'd like to thank the Sigal Museum for sharing this inspiring article with us Claiming Joy: The Juneteenth Menu of My Momma’s Memories. You can also enjoy a musical performance by Pentley Holmes, on stage from 10am-noon.
The Easton Farmers' Market doesn't pretend to be a bastion of diversity. We know we have a long way to go. But the market is an important community gathering space, and as such, we have a great opportunity to educate and facilitate conversation. We're committed to growing diversity in the market and strengthening race relations in the Easton Community.

So many of our farmers and vendors are also amazing Dads. They all work hard to bring you good food and beautiful flowers every week - often with their little ones in tow. Bring your own Dad to market this week and share the farmers' market experience with him! Treat him to coffee and pastry, listen to some music, fill a bag with all his favorites, and get him a souvenir t-shirt from America's longest open-air market.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE WONDERFUL DADS OUT THERE!

And just like that, the flavors of summer begin rolling in! Cabbage Throw Farm is still a few weeks away from their first tomatoes, but the first zucchini harvest has arrived. Dean & Emily are very excited for their Spring harvest of cabbage this year along with a small supply of broccoli and cauliflower. More favorites include fresh pearl onions, purple kohlrabi, fennel, beets, garlic scapes, napa cabbage, escarole, and romaine. Other salad greens, cooking greens, microgreens, and herbs will fill the tables this weekend.
Roasted Cabbage Slaw with Onion Dijon Sauce
• Preheat oven to 450.
• Cut cabbage half into fours and coat in olive oil, salt & pepper
• Roast for 8-10 minutes on each side until brown
For the sauce: Sauté minced onion and garlic scapes with butter. Add a tablespoon of Dijon dressing and salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle over roasted cabbage and add chopped parsley to garnish.

The flower world is in transition between the early spring blooms and the sweet summer annuals. It's always fun to see Holy Cow Farm's bouquets change with this transition. This week there will be lots of dainty white feverfew and the last of the bright sunshiny yarrow. Stop in for your weekly bunch of cheer!

RED is the color of Juneteenth. Breakaway Farms made this gorgeous sausage to collaborate with the Easton Farmers’ Market in celebration of Juneteenth!
Roasted Red Beet, Feta, & Mint Sausage!
This one is kinda crazy. Not going to lie. Simply pastured pork, roasted red beets, feta cheese, fresh mint, sea salt & black pepper. It’s sweeter than expected and the feta brings a surprising creaminess. You won’t taste the beets and the flavor that lingers reminds you of meadow tea from the fresh mint.

New Jersey native, Pentley Holmes is truly that rare artist whose work achieves both technical and emotional brilliance. A self-taught guitarist and vocalist, Pentley is as well-rounded musically as they come. Pentley’s background in creative writing allows him to unite his musical talent with an authentic expression of what it means to be alive.
Not only the nephew of the inspirational heavyweight boxing champion Larry Holmes, Pentley is a fighter in his own right. In 2009 he survived a typically lethal ruptured brain aneurysm.
