Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Free events are planned throughout the city

In recognition of the contributions of Hispanic residents and culture, the City of Miami Beach will hold a number of events to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, which began on Monday, September 15 and continues through Wednesday, October 15. 

The following FREE events are happening throughout the city: 

Ballet Folklorico Antumapu 

The Ballet Folklórico Antumapu Universidad de Chile presents Chiliche – Gente de Chile, a colorful and moving stage production with a folkloric ensemble of 20+ dancers that celebrates the cultural richness of the Chilean people through dance, music, and ancestral traditions. This performance journeys through the diverse landscapes and expressions of the country, from the mystical Rapa Nui to the vibrant rhythms of the north and south.

Sabor Y Patria

Last season's Sabor Y Patria event was a huge hit, so the Normandy Fountain Business Association is bringing it back for Hispanic Heritage Month! Celebrate the rich and diverse Miami Beach Hispanic community with amazing food, music and dance.

Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series: Melodia Y Rumba

Feel the energy of contemporary salsa and classic Latin rhythms as Melodia Y Rumba takes the stage in a lively open-air performance. Founded by bassist and composer Osmany “Ozzie” Gonzalez, Melodia Y Rumba is a 10-piece ensemble that blends traditional salsa with modern influences. Featuring lead vocalist Melissa Cruz, the group delivers a dynamic sound that reflects the cultural influences of Miami’s Latin music scene. In case of rain, the performance will take place inside The Betsy Hotel located at 1440 Ocean Drive.

This event is part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a free weekly concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association with support from the City of Miami Beach and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair. 

Miami Beach Salsa Fest

Join the City of Miami Beach’s Hispanic Affairs Committee for Miami Beach Salsa Fest featuring Melina Almodóvar “La Muñeca de la Salsa,” Jacareo, DJ Cristi Hernz, a senior salsa dance competition, free salsa lessons and much more.

OnStage! LIVE En La Playa

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Miami Beach’s OnStage! series presents OnStage! Live En La Playa featuring Jacuzzi Boys — a high-energy tribute to their favorite Spanish pop tunes — plus the hits by Jacuzzi Boys you already know and love. The performance will also feature Sonora Tukukuy and DJ Le Spam.


The Mobile Dále Zine Truck will be transformed into a traveling gallery showcasing Cumbia-inspired artwork, including vintage record covers, label logos, and poster designs. Guests will be invited to create their own Cumbia-style poster or LP cover, using popular fonts, colors and design elements drawn from the genre’s rich visual history.

Festival de Bomba y Plena MB 

The Festival de Bomba y Plena Miami Beach, presented by Afro Borinken Roots, is a free, family-friendly event celebrating the vibrant Afro-Puerto Rican traditions of music and dance. Audiences will experience the heartbeat of Puerto Rico through the powerful rhythms of barrel drums, expressive dance, and joyful call-and-response songs.

Miami Beach OnStage! featuring Miamibloco’s Bateria Saideira with Rum & Coke 

The City of Miami Beach’s OnStage! program presents another iteration of a samba percussion orchestra performance by Miamibloco and grooves by Rum & Coke on Lincoln Road.  Kick off the night with a retro Afro-Caribbean dance set hosted by residents DJ Kumi, Harold Fandino, and Jesus Rodriguez from 6-7:30 p.m., followed by two back-to-back samba performances by Miamibloco at 7:30 and 8:15 p.m.
