What is Juneteenth?


Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of enslaved Black Americans. After the Emancipation Proclamation, which only freed Black people enslaved in confederate states, was signed in 1863. It was not until June 19, 1865 that enslaved Black Americans in Galveston Texas received the message of freedom. Juneteenth is observed in the Black community to commemorate the freedom, achievement, a resilience of ALL Black American .

Prevent The Cycle

is engaging young adults (16-24)


You want to get involved in this year's municipal elections, you want candidates to know your voice matters, and your vote (or future vote) does too. Then Prevent The Cycle is calling on you to apply for our fellowship!

This program will run from June to August and is a 3-month commitment to developing and participating in voter engagement programming.

Youth will receive a $300 stipend for their participation.

Eligibility:

Lynn resident (16 to 24 years old)

5- 10 hrs. per week
