A priest is available during office hours for the blessing of items, spiritual direction, and confession. The office is located next to The Grotto Interpretive Center.

Lord Jesus,

As we enter the season of Lent, help us to humble ourselves and take away our pride so that we may be reconciled to you and to one another. May this Lenten season be a season for us to be merciful, loving and forgiving each other as we turn to you in repentance. May your love accompany us throughout these Lenten days.

Today: The Calvary Scene

As you enter the parking area of the lower level, you are greeted by a sculpture depicting the death of Jesus at the crucifixion.

The white Carrera marble tableau was installed in 1951 and carved by the Eredi Studios in Peitrasanta, Italy, a religious art colony near Pisa in Tuscany.

It is fitting that such a simple and elegant sculpture greets the visistors who come to our sanctuary, the National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, for in Catholic literature and piety, the source of Mary's sorrow is ther death of her son, Jesus.

Notre Dame Glee Club Spring Tour

The Notre Dame Glee Club will perform at The Grotto as part of their spring tour. With 110 years of history, this all-male vocal ensemble will share sacred music in The Grotto's Chapel of Mary.

Please join us for this special event. A free will offering for the glee club will be available.
