Another wildfire preparedness WIN! Congrats to the Ondulando Neighborhood in Ventura for being recognized as a FIREWISE USA Neighborhood!

Ondulando joins Los Robles Estates, Matilija Canyon Properties, and the Deer Creek Community Association as active FIREWISE USA recognized sites in Ventura County!

Partner Highlights & Other Announcements

Thank you Piru Neighborhood Council!

The Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council is so grateful to have community partners like the Piru Neighborhood Council. PNC is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to protecting, empowering, and helping build a better future for the small, yet mighty, unincorporated Ventura County town. PNC' s primary purpose is to promote better living conditions, better education, improved housing, and a greater participation in community affairs by the people of Piru and vicinity. Thank you to President Ken Wiseman for helping VRFSC identify hazardous palm trees that we have been able to mitigate through grant funding. Also thanks to the rest of the board, V.P. Irene Ruiz, Treasurer Judy-Daley Lovett, Secretary Pam Briscoe, Member at Large Kelly Boek, as well as Michael Lopez from Piru Wildfire Prevention and Danny Ramirez and Roy Ruiz for their undeniable dedication to protecting their community.

SCE Wildfire Mitigation Efforts

SCE has officially launched its first Access & Functional Needs (AFN) Self Identification Survey in High Fire Risk Areas to better understand your household’s energy needs. If you or someone in your home has a disability or other AFN, especially if they use a medical device, be sure to complete this survey. This effort is taking place in two Phases, so if you haven’t received your survey by mail or email, and you live in an HFRA, keep an eye out for it during the fall. Your participation in this survey will help SCE tailor our resources and services to your needs, so be sure to complete this survey!

Give Back for a Bigger Impact

Please consider a contribution to our organization so that we can continue providing free services to the community and prepare as much of Ventura County as possible for impending wildfire. We are not safe until all of our communities and neighborhoods are safe. There are many homeowners and communities in Ventura County who simply cannot afford to do the work themselves; it is crucial for all of us to be able to help those less fortunate. Your support will allow us to continue providing free assessments, chipping services, brush clearance, educational workshops, and so much more. We do not take this responsibility lightly and thank you for entrusting us with your support.

VRFSC is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization and your contribution is tax deductible.
