WE’RE HERE FOR YOU.

Give Mom the Gift of Sleep

Spring can be a busy season. It often seems as if the chores and adventures pop up all at once. While this vibrancy keeps us moving and alive, this month I must also advocate for rest.

Sleep–quality and duration–is the theme for this issue. As I was writing the featured article below, I was thinking of myself as much as I was encouraging you. One must be dedicated and mindful about sleep, because otherwise the occasional compromise becomes a way of life. For instance, I love writing these articles, but there is only so much time in a day/week/month. As such, I have made a conscious decision to reduce the frequency of this newsletter once again. You will find that there is a bit more content, but this content will arrive just once per month on the first Sunday of each month.

Meanwhile, May also means we celebrate our Mothers. We all have one; none of us would be here without her. Let us extend our appreciation of this fact and recognize that we often forget that moms need sleep, too! Teach our children to lessen their demands on Mom in the hours before bedtime and after waking. Turn off the noise. Cuddle together to read or some other calming activity. For adults, skip the glass of wine and brew her a hot cup of herbal tea.

Yes, advertisers will tell you about plenty of products you can buy to show your love for mom. However, what she might love more than anything is knowing that you care whether or not she can get a good night’s sleep.

Do not disturb pillow

Poor Sleep and Its Negative Health Effects.

What you can do about it.

by Dr. Pfeiffer

We often hear about the importance of eating right. Just exactly what that means is certainly up to debate, but we can all agree that the “Eat Right” component of our overall health and wellness is extremely important. So too are the “Move Right” and the “Think Right” components, because exercise and stress management are critical components of our health and wellness paradigm.

But what about the often forgotten “Sleep Right” component? Not only is good quality sleep important, but so too is a sufficient amount of sleep. Yes, restorative sleep is essential to good health.

Jamie, Samantha, and Amelia McKevitt

I had been experiencing lower back pain consistently for years before making an appointment with Dr. Pfeiffer. I had previously struggled through the pain and dealt with reduced range of motion.

Chiropractic care helped me with my alignment and posture. My range of motion is increased, and the lower back pain is reduced. In addition to the adjustments, Dr. Pfeiffer provides stretches to do at home which help the process. Chiropractic care was very helpful for me. I started bringing my daughters to get adjustments as well. He explains what he is doing and makes them feel comfortable about the process.

OUR STAFF AND PATIENTS RALLIED WHEN ASKED

This past February, our offices celebrated the love of Valentine's Day by collecting canned goods and personal care products for The Open Link, a local, non-profit, multi-service agency that serves the greater Upper Perkiomen Valley.

Pile of collected items

After Dr. Pfeiffer delivered the collected items, The Open Link responded with this note:

"You are wonderful! Your staff and patients donated

489 pounds of much-needed food for our pantry

on Friday. Thank you for your long-standing support

of our programs and services for the community!"

Thank you to all who gave. Missed the drive? Want to donate more?
