Be the Change: Join Our Antiracism Working Group

WHAT: To create spaces for brave conversations among mentoring program staff members and leaders across our state, MENTOR Virginia is hoping to launch an Antiracism Working Group aligned with the Me and White Supremacy Workbook by Layla F. Saad. The objective of the working group is to increase each member’s awareness of and activism towards racial justice both personally and in the mentoring field.
WHO: This group is designed for mentoring program staff and leaders in Virginia who hold white privilege.

Opportunity 1: Join the National Disability Mentoring Coalition for FREE
For a limited time only, any mentoring program that is part of the Mentoring Connector can join the National Disability Mentoring Coalition for free! Being part of NDMC provides access to a wealth of online resources and trainings, all free. Not part of the Mentoring Connector? Sign up for free here.

Opportunity 2: Earn a Disability Mentoring Certificate for FREE
The National Disability Mentoring Coalition is enabling mentoring program staff to earn a Disability Mentoring Certification for free, but only for the cohort taking place February - May 2021. The certification process takes four months, during which time participating members are guided taught how to run a mentoring program that is inclusive to youth, volunteers, and staff with disabilities. Sign up by January 31st!
