Celebrating Our Volunteers and Community of Support
Another record-breaking Fiscal Year!

It has been a big year for Sandhills Habitat as we continue to grow and evolve into the best version of ourselves. After nearly 30 years of dedicated service, Amie Fraley has thoughtfully prepared a strong succession plan to ensure a smooth transition for the organization. We are proud to announce that Farrah Newman will serve as our next Executive Director, carrying forward the mission and values that have guided Sandhills Habitat for decades.

Community support has allowed us to exceed our goals and build 14 guaranteed affordable homes right here in the Sandhills this year. Cheers to the Construction Team and the volunteers who support them! Through our global tithe program, we also funded the construction of 14 homes in Zambia or Haiti, extending the impact of our local work worldwide.

Dondi and the ReStore Nation exceeded their goals this year, reaching an impressive $1.4 million in sales. For the first time, clothing sales surpassed home décor, marking an exciting milestone for our ReStore team and the community that supports it.

We are grateful for the incredible volunteers who dedicated their time in 2025. Their hard work—whether on the job site, in the ReStore, in the office, or on fundraising or other committees—plays a vital role in advancing the Habitat mission. We are equally thankful for our generous donors, whose continued support sustains us throughout the year.

You may have already received our 2025 Impact Report, highlighting how your support has transformed lives this year. If not, please download our report for details.

We celebrate the gift of a strong community
and the neighbors who have made the mission successful.

Congratulations to our HIPS

Class of 2026!

Our annual homeownership application session broke records this year, underscoring the growing need for attainable housing. Congratulations to our new partners on an incredible achievement! To be included in a new Habitat Homebuyer class means you have already proven you are a hardworking individual dedicated to your family’s financial success. Meeting the requirements is not easy, and that is for good reason. A successful journey into home ownership requires discipline, planning, and, especially at Habitat, good communication.

"We believe we are now your teammates as you navigate owning a home, and we are proud to provide you with training and support. You are taking on a tremendous responsibility, and life will be full of surprises. We are here to help you through those and to celebrate your future milestones. Remember that you will also be part of Habitat's mission, because your future mortgage payments will make the dream of home ownership possible for another family. We are all on this journey together, and we are proud to call you our partner. "

Welcoming Our New Construction Supervisor

Chris Hernandez is the perfect choice for our new Construction Supervisor. His family-owned business, Hernandez Painting & Construction LLC, has partnered with Habitat since 2017, delivering high-quality painting services for our homes. A Robbins native, Chris is also pursuing his Electrical Certification at Sandhills Community College, further expanding his expertise in construction.

Please join us in welcoming
Chris when you see him on-site!

November Faith
Relations Meeting

Join us for our Faith Relations Meeting on Wednesday, the 19th, at 12:00 noon at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 330 S. May Street, Southern Pines.

We’re seeking community partners and volunteers who share our passion for advocating for affordable housing. Learn how your congregation or group can get involved and make a lasting impact in our community.

Women Build Home Takes Shape

The home sponsored by our Women Build supporters is coming together beautifully—walls and roof are up. We were thrilled to welcome the women of Forest Creek Golf Club, who joined us to help raise the walls on the neighboring home, bringing us closer to getting six additional homes dried in before the colder weather arrives.

"This has been an awesome process; the people at Habitat have been very supportive. The homebuyer process has taught me to always work hard at my goals and to keep pushing no matter what. If this is something you're interested in, I think the experience would be great. Having a home is a daily reminder of the value of consistently hard work and the habits that led me here. It is not only the structure of walls and rooms, but also a sanctuary where I can foster memories."

On Tuesday morning, instead of sleeping in or grabbing a morning coffee, they are at the construction site at 8 am. Our "Hardcore" group of volunteers is dedicated to making affordable housing in Moore County so people can live and work in the same community. To be labeled a Hardcore, you must have 50+ volunteer hours. This group has accumulated just under 60 thousand hours. That is 6.63 years' worth of hours! A Habitat House takes 2,000 volunteer hours, and this group is ready to put in the work. Here at Habitat, our volunteers are the backbone of our organization. If you want to join the mission of making safe, decent, and affordable housing for our community, reach out. Tuesday mornings are reserved for our hardcore volunteers. Check us out on our Website, Instagram, or Facebook.

Although all Habitat ReStores partner in their local missions in similar ways, we have long insisted that we are one of the best. It was fun to see the data support our claims when we received the survey results of ReStores across the state and country. Compared with the other 71 Habitat ReStores in North Carolina, we were not surprised to see that our single store held the highest top-10 spots in gross revenue. Even more impressive, we have the highest profit margin of any ReStore in the state. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and strong leadership from ReStore Director Dondi Jones, the ReStore sponsored seven houses this year. Dondi and his team made the most of their space, earning one of the highest sales per square foot and the top revenue per staff member in North Carolina.

Thank you, ReStore – you make nearly half of our annual production of new and preserved homes possible!

We are always in need of cashiers. Join the crew!

Pinehurst Key Clubbers, we love to see our youth groups engaged.

This devoted group of Art Lovers helps us clean and price artwork.

It's a fun opportunity to meet like-minded friends who support affordable housing. On Thursday, November, at 5:00 pm, you can learn about Habitat's volunteer opportunities. Whether you enjoy the outdoors and hands-on construction or working in the ReStore, we can tailor an experience that you will find both rewarding and enjoyable!

We know volunteer opportunities are abundant in Moore County. We strive to make your time a rewarding and beneficial experience at Sandhills Habitat.

No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to help and a heart for service. Join us today and see how you can make a difference. Together, we can build more than houses—we can build hope, stability, and brighter futures.
