This Sunday is Independence Day!
Let the bells ring, let the rockets soar, let the flags fly! It was 245 years ago that we declared our independence and began to forge a new country that holds freedom as one of our highest values. Freedom of Religion is often considered the “First Freedom” since it is mentioned first in the Bill of Rights. I can’t think of a better start to a day celebrating freedom than by exercising our First Freedom.
Please join us in worship this Sunday!
What is God calling YOU to do?
I am convinced that everyone who calls St Francis their church home should be involved in some sort of ministry. The apostle Paul tells us that pastors and teachers are called “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ” (Eph 4:12-13). I ask you – what are you doing to build the body of Christ at St Francis?
We need help with the Altar Guild, Sunday School, hospitality, and more.
What would God have you do?
Please contact Rev. Jerry with questions, offers to help, or anything else on your mind!

Scholarship Student: needs two wheels for college this Fall!
Can you donate a Bike?
Eghosa Isibor, an outstanding student from Hawthorne Math & Science Academy, and one of our new scholarship award recipients, is attending UC Merced this Fall, majoring in Civil Engineering. She needs a new, or gently used, bicycle to help her get around, and save her from walking as much as 5-10 miles per day! Let’s give her some more time to study all that math (and maybe have some other fun as well!). FYI – for bike sizing, Eghosa is 5’ 4” tall.
