We Made our Goal for Big Day of Giving!

We did it! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the California Museum exceeded its $25,000 goal last month on Big Day of Giving. Every donation helps us highlight diverse stories, fund field trip scholarships, and make California's history, arts, and culture accessible to everyone.

As a thank you, we'll be hosting a free admission day later this year. Stay tuned for details!

On behalf of our board, staff, and the communities your donations directly support, thank you for making a lasting impact.

Event Recap

Frank Fat's: A Taste of History

Last month, California Museum members gathered at Frank Fat's, the iconic Sacramento landmark and James Beard Award-winning institution that has been serving up history and flavor since 1939.

Frank Fat's son Jerry and grandson Kevin shared the remarkable story of Frank's rise to culinary legend, from his early days immigrating from China to building an institution that would earn national recognition decades later.

And of course, no visit to Frank Fat's would be complete without the food. Members had the chance to sample the iconic dishes that put Frank Fat's on the map, bringing the family's story full circle from the kitchen to the table to the hearts of Sacramento.

A heartfelt thank you to Jerry and Kevin for sharing their family's legacy with us, and to our members for showing up for a bite of local history!
