• Welcome Rev. Bill Green this Sunday

United Church of Marco Island welcomes Chaplain (Major General) William Green, Jr., U.S. Army, Retired, as guest worship leader and preacher this Sunday, September 27. He will participate in both the 8:30 a.m. Communion Service and the 10:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service.

A former enlisted soldier, Chaplain Green answered God’s call to ordained ministry and returned to the Army as a chaplain in 1994. During his distinguished career, he ministered to soldiers and military families around the world, including during deployments to Iraq and the Balkans. He served as Deputy Chief of Chaplains of the U.S. Army before being promoted to Major General in 2023.

An ordained minister in the National Baptist Convention, Chaplain Green brings a lifelong commitment to faith, service, and leadership. Let's give him a nice UCMI welcome this Sunday!

• “It’s Good to Be King!” Bible Study

Join Marty Roland and Pastor Ed for “It’s Good to Be King!”, an eight-week Bible study exploring the Books of 1 and 2 Kings.

Beginning Thursday, October 1, and continuing through November 19, the group will meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Sawyer Room. Together, participants will explore the history of Israel’s monarchy—from the final days of King David through the Babylonian exile—and consider the faith, leadership, and challenges found throughout these powerful books of the Bible.

United Church of Marco Island would love to celebrate the births, graduations, accomplishments, and other special milestones of your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren!

Please send your announcements to ucmarco@ucmarco.org so we can share in your family’s joy. If a new baby has joined your family, please let the church office know so we can place a flower on the Communion table in celebration.
