25 YEARS OF FROZEN EMBRYOS BROUGHT TO LIFE!

Twenty-five years ago, Ronald Stoddart and John & Marlene Strege had a vision. Why not help families with remaining embryos use an adoption model to assist other families adopt embryos?

And now over 930 babies have been born into their loving families. Babies, if not for Snowflakes and our amazing families, might still be in frozen storage.

What a unique and incredible mission was created. Several other organizations have decided to use elements of an adoption model to help even more babies be born. Lives that have infinite possibilities. Lives that bring joy. Lives that are loved. Lives that have built families and in the future will build even more families.

Truly, embryo adoption is a celebration of life!

Nightlight's Reaction to the Reversal of Roe v Wade

Since Nightlight Christian Adoptions pioneered the field of embryo adoption in 1997, our agency has been thrust into the media and political spotlight for our strong pro-life position. We advocate for the personhood of embryos, and since 1959, we have helped over 3500 women in crisis pregnancy make the sacrificial choice of an adoption plan, with our domestic adoption program in ten states. As survivors of the abortion holocaust, a reversal of Roe is the answer to a prayer we have prayed our entire lives in which we have seen one third of our generation perish.

Thinking Today About Tomorrow's Decision

It has always been our opinion that life begins at conception. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with an extreme case of endometriosis that we wondered if we could have the family we felt we were meant to have and not violate our morals.

When my husband and I ran into fertility struggles, like many others, we had to start to think ‘outside of the box’ regarding how to start a family. We have friends who decided against IVF over 20 years ago because they were against the idea of their embryos (children) being discarded or remaining frozen indefinitely. I had learned about embryo adoption after seeing something in the media, and so I began to research this unique form of adoption.

Doctors question testing of IVF embryos

You may or may not be aware that the Snowflakes program does not allow for testing (PGS)of adopted sets of embryos. If the embryos were previously tested by the placing family, that information will be passed along to the adopting family's clinic.

A recent study suggests that genetic testing of embryos may provide misleading information to families undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Published in Human Reproduction last month, the study found that some women who decided to implant embryos that tested positive for genetic abnormalities later gave birth to healthy infants. The findings call into question the usual practice of discarding such embryos.
