In honor of Women’s History Month, we introduce you to several scientists who have made important contributions in the study of science and natural history, helping to expand understanding of ancient and modern-day animals that have shaped and continue to shape the world around us.

Explore the vibrant world of plants and insects

We’re buzzing with excitement about our first Pollinator Day, Sat., April 13!

Join us to celebrate spring and enjoy educational and interactive activities—including making wildflower seed balls, learning about pollinator gardens, exploring a wide variety of insects and native bees, and more—with the museum's education team, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, Central Texas Chapter Texas Master Naturalists, Texas Biodiversity Center, Two Hives Honey, Beevo Beekeeping Society and more.

From Webb to the Future

A stellar thank you to Dr. Stefanie Milam, the James Webb Space Telescope Deputy Project Scientist for Planetary Science, for an out-of-this-world presentation about the science behind the JWST last week!

Thanks also to Dr. Caroline Morley, Assistant Professor at UT Austin Department of Astronomy, for sharing her groundbreaking research on exoplanet atmospheres, and to McDonald Observatory for providing giveaways.
