Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-first Century edited by Alice Wong

Disability Visibility consists of diverse accounts within the disability community, providing a dynamic view of the complexities experienced by this underrepresented population. As stated by the publisher, the anthology "invites readers to question their own assumptions and understandings. It celebrates and documents disability culture in the now. It looks to the future and past with hope and love."

Dawnshard by Brandon Sanderson

When a ghost ship is discovered, its crew is presumed dead after trying to reach the storm-shrouded island Akinah. Navani Kholin must send an expedition to make sure the island hasn't fallen into enemy hands. Shipowner Rysn Ftori lost the use of her legs but gained the companionship of Chiri-Chiri, a dragon-like species once thought extinct. Now Rysn's pet is ill, and any hope for Chiri-Chiri's recovery can be found only at the ancestral home of the larkin: Akinah.

Unmasking Autism: Discovering the New Faces of Neurodiversity by Devon Price

"Masking" is a coping mechanism that autistic people use to suppress their autistic traits in order to fit in with neurotypical society. In this book, Price documents his experience with masking, and provides a new view of autism from the inside, rather than from the outside looking in.

A Kind of Spark by Elle McNicoll

This middle-grade novel is about eleven-year-old Addie who is singled out by her teacher and classmates because she's autistic. A lot of the novel explores what that means for her and the way she processes her thoughts and emotions. When she learns about witch trials that happened in her Scottish village, she begins a campaign to install a memorial that atones for what was done to them. This is a sensitive, empowering story that I highly recommend!
