Thanksgiving is upon us and we are all eager to celebrate with family and friends what has been a very trying year, to say the least. But while the desire to share good times and a delicious feast may be stronger than ever, there is good reason to continue to exercise caution to help decrease the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

Our needs don’t go away during a pandemic – they increase. That is especially true for children in Miami-Dade County who are currently in the foster care system. With November being National Adoption Month, agencies like Citrus Family Care Network (CFCN), who manages foster care and adoptions programs in the county, decided not to be deterred by the limitations imposed by the pandemic and adjusted to make sure that adoptions, and the joy they bring, went ahead.. The Children’s Trust Champions for Children awards ceremony annually honors individuals and programs that have achieved greatness in their service to children and families. This year, those efforts have been more important than ever, and the winners are among the most deserving in The Children’s Trust’s history.
