Holiday Safety Tips: Protecting Your Pets This Festive Season

The holidays bring joy and celebration, but they can also pose hidden dangers for your pets. Keep decorations like tinsel, ornaments, and string lights out of reach to prevent choking or injury. Be mindful of what’s on the holiday table—foods like chocolate, bones, and dishes containing onions or garlic can be toxic for pets. Seasonal plants, such as poinsettias, holly, mistletoe, and lilies, can also be harmful if ingested, so be sure to place them out of reach.

If you’re hosting guests, make sure your pet has access to a quiet and comfortable space—a separate room or a cozy crate—where they can retreat if the excitement becomes overwhelming. A little preparation can go a long way in ensuring a safe and happy holiday for everyone.

Spaying and Neutering Homeless Cats with Your Support

Thanks to a partnership between Project HumaneKind and Peninsula CatWorks, homeless cats and kittens are receiving vital spay/neuter surgeries through a new emergency fund. When local organizations faced funding shortages, our emergency fund was established to provide support through 2024. Spaying and neutering are key to controlling homeless cat populations humanely. Two happy, healthy cats are featured here after receiving this life-changing treatment. Your donations are making a direct impact—thank you for helping us continue this essential work!

Comfort and Joy: Practical Ways to Keep Pets Cozy During the Holidays

Amidst the holiday hustle and bustle, don’t forget to create a comforting environment for your pets. A warm, draft-free spot with their favorite bed or blanket can provide the coziness they need. Sticking to their regular feeding and exercise routines is essential to keeping them grounded and secure during the season’s excitement.

To keep your furry companions entertained while you’re wrapping gifts or preparing meals, consider offering interactive toys or long-lasting chews. These simple efforts help ensure your pet feels calm, cared for, and included—even during the busiest of times.

Make a Difference This Season: Support Project HumaneKind Before Year’s End

As we reflect on the year, your support has made an incredible impact for animals in need—but our work isn’t done yet. Before the year’s end, consider making a tax-deductible donation to Project HumaneKind. Your generosity helps us advocate for essential care, safety, and protection for countless pets and wildlife.

Together, we can continue our mission of compassion and care into the new year. Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference. Make a Donation Here.
