Child Care Chronicles

Nevada Edition

Hi Nevada Child Care Heroes! 🏜️💛

Welcome to February—aka the month of kindness, courage, and “we’re doing our best!” If today was a little messy (hello, spilled water + big feelings + surprise paperwork), please remember: you are still making a difference. One calm voice (yours!) can change a whole day.

🚨 New Class Alert!

Creating Safe & Healthy Child Care Environments

Keeping children healthy and safe is the foundation of quality early childhood care. Fun Corner: Giggles + Good Vibes

What fun classroom ideas can we do this week? 💘🎨

1) “Kindness Bingo” (Preschool + School Age)

Make a simple bingo board with squares like:

  • “I helped a friend”
  • “I used gentle hands”
  • “I said ‘please’ or ‘thank you’”

When kids get 3 in a row, celebrate with a class cheer (no prizes needed!).

2) “Desert Heart Hunt” (Toddlers + Preschool)

Hide paper hearts around the room.

Each heart has a picture: 😊 😢 😡 😴

When they find one, ask: “When do you feel like this?” (Keep answers short and sweet.)

3) “Mailbox of Compliments” (All ages)

Put out a little box labeled Kind Words. Children add drawings or quick notes (teachers can scribble for them). Read a few at circle time.
