Veterans Banners Program

Above: WWII fighter pilot and Tuskegee Airman Aaron Herrington's banner.

The second consecutive year of the Veterans Banners Program is a success! In July, 65 Veterans banners were installed in three locations in Long Beach: on Lakewood Blvd., near the Long Beach Airport, between Spring St. and Conant St., on Bellflower Blvd., near the VA Long Beach, between 7th St. and Atherton St., and on Atlantic Ave., near St. Mary Medical Center, between 8th St. and 11th St. The banners will be up until July 2026.

We are thrilled to share that City Council allocated funding to support the program in 2026. Look for an announcement in a future newsletter.
