2022 Water Quality Report
August is Water Quality Month and Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) encourages you to learn more about our treatment process and water quality standards! Features of the report include summarized easy-to-read charts, which explain where the utilities drinking water comes from and how it is treated.
 
We deliver more than 60 million gallons per day of affordable, clean drinking water to over 600,000 residents located within 1,300 square miles of Palm Beach County. In 2022, PBCWUD conducted more than 80,000 tests on samples from hydrants, commercial buildings, and taps. These tests ensure we continue to meet and exceed all Federal and State water quality standards throughout our distribution system. 
PBCWUD Receives Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award
PBCWUD has been honored with the 2023 Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Award - GOLD presented by the Florida Sterling Council. This historic achievement marks PBCWUD as the first water utility in the state to receive this prestigious honor.
 
The Florida Sterling Council, established in 1992 and supported by the Executive Office of the Governor, oversees the Governor's Sterling Award for Performance Excellence, recognizing organizations with exceptional management approaches. The Sterling Manufacturing Business Excellence Awards, presented annually, recognizes PBCWUD's outstanding performance in crucial areas such as leadership, strategy, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis, knowledge management, workforce, and operations. 
PBCWUD Receives Southeast Desalting Association 2023 Outstanding Membrane Plant Award
PBCWUD is proud to announce that its Water Treatment Plant 9 has been honored with the Southeast Desalting Association (SEDA) 2023 Outstanding Membrane Plant Award for Large Facilities.
 
Presented by SEDA, the Outstanding Membrane Plant Award is a testament to Water Treatment Plant 9's commitment to delivering high-quality water to the community. SEDA, dedicates itself to enhancing water supplies through membrane desalting and filtration, water reuse, and other water sciences. This esteemed recognition applauds the exceptional maintenance efforts and exemplary performance of the membrane treatment plant.
