Women's History Month
In celebration of Women’s History Month, we highlight the contributions of Sarah Capps. WWII had a big impact on Sarah Capps's career. Prior to WWII, Sarah worked as a movie projectionist in Superior, AZ. Like many women during WWII, Sarah enlisted in the army as part of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (W.A.A.C), stationed at Williams Airfield. Sarah's prior work experience was used to show combat footage for base training. Capps excelled in W.A.A.C and ended her military career as a Sergeant. Pictured is Sarah in one of her uniforms during her career with W.A.A.C. Stop by the museum and see Sarah's uniform!

Mark your calendars for Arizona Gives Day!

Thank you to our members and friends who made our first Arizona Gives Day fundraiser a success in 2021. Your generosity totaled over $2,000. The Pinal County Historical Museum is participating in 2022’s Arizona Gives Day on April 5th - 6th, a 24-hour day of statewide giving.

Being in our third pandemic year, we need your help even more. Our visitation has not returned, and our outlook is uncertain. We are currently in peak season, and January’s visitation was down by 37% from pre-pandemic times. We will fully function through the end of our season through May, but the second half of the year is under evaluation for cuts in either programming and/or staff. 100% of your contribution directly supports our bottom line so we can continue to remain open to the public, offer opportunities for academic and community-based research, and high-caliber programs like our Annual Día de Los Muertos Celebration. Early giving begins on March 15th. Mark your calendar and please consider making a contribution to help us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000.
